That's great!
I'm quite curious to know how exactly you separate those users from, let's say, ESGST users, but I'm guessing by revealing that you could be opening a door for those script creators to bypass it.

I can't imagine that it's hard to detect someone who enters every giveaway on a page in the span of a few seconds, consistently over time.

What if the auto-join script is smart and spans out the giveaways that it enters? For example: instead of entering 10 giveaways within a few seconds, it enters 1, then waits a few seconds and enters another, and so on...

I think it more likely that it detects entries over time, like if GAs are entered every hour over a 24 hour period. People have to sleep, so it would be suspicious. Although I suppose if you have multiple people in shifts entering GAs on the same account it would simulate this. But having multiple people using the same account may also be against the rules?
Ultimately, there is no way you can detect an auto-entry bot that tries to simulate human activity. If the bot takes a 7 hour break each day and enters GAs in batches several times per day, it would pretty much look like a human.

I'd be curious to see what effect this has on server load after a few weeks (not that I'd notice a difference from my end - the site has been so nice and nippy the last couple of years)

People will now believe ArchiBoT has no auto-join capabilities.

Its from ,,Fullmetal Alchemist,, (2003 anime version)
https://myanimelist.net/anime/121/Fullmetal_Alchemist
And you have ,,Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood,, (2009 that is closer to the source material manga)

If u plan on watching both, i'd recommend start with '03 first, both have a great animation but i believe '09 is a bit superior, also the story is a lot better on '09 (Brotherhood). Now if u just plan on watching one for not being repetitive then go directly to '09 but let me tell u that even when both are at the beginning pretty much the same, they do have some difference that later on story will make more sense to their background. The old one was created while manga was still halfway through, so the ending is "original", opposite to the new one who has the true ending of the manga.
Sorry if my explanation was a bit messy (? and enjoy them!

Do you mean 70% of the people that already got hit, or is that including the people that didn't get hit this time around but that was only due to them not being particularly active this week?

Ah! Thanks for the reply.:) I haven't run across any suspensions today, so I don't know if any of the people suspended were known to me.

Sometimes (actually most of the time) I love your comments :D

"needed to suspend 1,614 users today"
Proof that blacklist size is too small?

Any future suspension should be permanent for repeated offenders, in my opinion! Thanks for taking care about this issue :)

Hi SG,
You might remember that 5 months ago we had a discussion about scripts and add-ons used to automatically join giveaways, and how they are against the rules.
Unfortunately, a large number of users continued to use those scripts, and we needed to suspend 1,614 users today. The suspensions are based on activity from the past week. For now, those users have received a short suspension as a reminder to disable their scripts. However, future suspensions will be more severe, or permanent.
Hopefully this will help to keep the community fair for everyone. Enjoy your week!
