As for why it's bad... well, it was far ahead of its time every single time it reared it's head... pre-launch. But they kept delaying, wanting to make it better, wanting it in this new, awesome engine, etc, etc, etc. In the end, the final product after fourteen years was an unfortunate mess of ages-too-late references to 2007 games and movies, a bizarre mix of old-school and modern gaming (the two weapon limit being one of the worst examples), way too immature even for Duke, and just a shoddy product overall. It did sell enough that there's future in the franchise though, so I have hopes the next game won't fall into the same mistakes. If you want to play Duke, pick up Duke Nukem 3D. It's what Forever should have been.
