I'm one of those people who keeps my profile private. The last game I won was 10 months ago and the time before that was more than a year. Is there any way that you can increase the sync time for people who haven't won in the last week. So a flag that triggers the moment you win a game. If the flag hasn't triggered thn you don't need to sync. At the moment, I have to sync every week and it's getting rather crazy when I am not actually winning anything.
I know my daughter, who hasn't won any games hasn't had to sync since her first sync.

The sync is not about not winning something in double, it also about not winning something you already have. If you sync even less than a week, you could enter for games you already have since some times (few weeks),and if you won them you could regift them and not being flag for it, as Steamgift would detect the game on your account.

That would make sense except new accounts only need to sync when they have won something after their first sync. So my daughters account which hasn't won anything is still working fine from the first sync. This is about a year after she first created the account.

Private accounts are required to sync at least once a week. Public accounts are synced automatically every day.
If her account is private and she hasn't had to sync in all that time, then it would be a bug.

SteamGifts does not work. Synchronization?
How long is it? Not working cannot be saved https://steamcommunity.com/id/19880606/edit/settings

If the option is not saving, you can try a different browser or the mobile app.
Right now you games list is still hidden so it definitely did not save.

This wouldn't work just simply for the fact that there is a limit on how many friends you can have on Steam.

Please switch to a public Steam profile before attempting to sync. This can be done by updating your Steam privacy settings as seen below.
For some reason this is what I'm seeing when attempting to sync, profile is set to fully public. Tried switching it to private and back, didn't help.
Last sync was 17 hrs ago. Maybe it will work itself out when it reaches 24 hours?

Hey everyone,
You most likely heard that Steam announced new privacy settings for profiles. The most noteworthy change is the addition of a new "game details" setting, which defaults to "friends only". This causes your game library and wishlist to be hidden from those outside of your friend list. To maintain the integrity of our site, we are going to require users to set this new setting to "public" in order for us to ensure users are activating games they win, and not entering to win games they already own.
This works similar to how we previously handled private profiles. Users will need to set this new setting to "public" when registering. After that, users can switch the setting back to "private" or "friends only". However, if they would like to enter giveaways, our site will ask them to switch the setting to "public" once a week to sync their data. If you choose to leave the setting as "public" all the time, then our site will automatically sync your data once a day.
Both the registration and account pages have been updated and revised for clarity. If you attempt to sync your account with incorrect privacy settings, you'll see a link to the new privacy options, and a screenshot showing how they should be configured.
Overall, I think the new privacy settings are a welcome change to Steam. The defaults cause a few annoyances, but I don't think they'll have a significant impact on our community.
