There's something kind of nice about receiving a gift on Steam. I haven't really figured it out yet, but it seems to be one of those satisfying, psychological things for me.
But if you're just giving a gift to most people, that URL would be the best way to do it.

Ok, thank you for the responses guys. Every Giveaway I was looking at seemed to be giving away steam keys rather than the gift url. I can't help but to think that it is because people are getting confused about the not giving away a download page rule.

First and Obviously, no one wants a download page link. They want to redeem their keys through steam.
However that being said, what is the best way to send a HIB gift. In theory, receiving a gift URL would be the best way to send it because no one else would have access to your own personal download page that humble bundle emails you. You get your own steam key that no one has looked at, as well as the download links that no one else has access to. Or would everyone just rather get a steam key emailed to them because its easier and does not really matter as long as you can redeem them on steam?
Thoughts?
