Haven't seen something like this on Astats so far. It seems the database broke. A lot fof really easy achievements has stupidly high points value as they have been achieved by only 1-5 users. Some games have the same achievement twice making this even more irritating. Completed games and all user point values will be all over the place now.

I wonder if Astats botched some kind of update or if someone was annoyed with his point score and tries to raise it without realizing that others will profit from it too. And hopefully this will still take some minutes so it doesn't look like I'm the one who has gone crazy.

EDIT: Seems like most of it is back to the usual. There are still some minor hickups but they are barely noticeable.

Is your "Most expensive achievements" section messed up as well?

Well, I don't really use sites like that sooo I woudn't know (and don't mind).
Does sound rather crazy though, ha!

Hm a couple of those "most expensive ones" are the first achievable achievements in these games. Those don't have any or only a few achievers now. That's certainly a bug.
Maybe they tried to introduce a new point-system and messed that up

I'll be "that" guy, but what exactly do you do on Astats? Community, achievements, something else?

Hm, I'm only checking my profile from time to time. But it is more or less a site dedicated to achievement hunters. The site does sync with your profile and distribute points to achievements depending on how many others have obtained it. And people can then compare their scores. They also take a closer look and mark people suspected for cheating. There are other functions I don't know since I don't have an account there.

They were talking about adjusting the point System. Maybe they are Testing something ;)

They were talking about Max points per achievement and stuff ;)

It's a bug. On few achiev I got, it says that 0 or only 1 people got it. It will be fixed soon.
I doubt someone for Astats would try to change the values of achiev for his personnal gain...

My most expensive achievements do not include only Tales of Maj'eyal, so yeah they are broken :)
And I now have only 97% on Sproggiwood (that I 100%) and 101.7% on Out There Omega (which is not possible for this game I think?)

Also I saw some "playlist buttons. Are they new or did I never notice them before ?

And I have only 662 achievements, I should have 665.

Can you give me some Tips for Majeyal? I am thinking about starting it myself :)

http://forums.te4.org/viewforum.php?f=41&sid=9cd6d9bdd8d2ae385907e66bb1408a0a

I have played mostly 1.2 and 1.3 (and mostly the free open source version, although I also bought it and the extensions on steam), not 1.4 so I don't know how much have changed but I'd say:

  • On level up, focus your stats on two or three attributes only (depending on your class). I think guides say to focus on only one attribute, and when it is maxed, level up another. That's not what I did on my successful run(s)
  • Focus your points on a few talents
  • Saves are really really really important.
  • The game is easier if you do the dungeons in some particular order, but I'd suggest you do your first runs without worrying about this, unlock some new classes and race, and just then look at the following guide. Warning: it is full of spoilers! In particular the real test is imho what is currently the 5th item in the list for level 20/30 in this particular guide.
    https://te4.org/wiki/Recommended_Zone_Order_Progression
  • You should always have at any moment at least one way to run away (usually a infusion or rune). You WILL encounter some OP creatures that will kill you in a few game turns

The starting races are mostly bad, you will probably have a better chance of success with some of the unlockables (archmage is very easy to unlock). My favorites are sun paladin (can only be unlocked midgame) and summoner (easy to unlock)

TSA is much better than AStats, and prettier.

TSA doesn't tell me anything O.o And i like the design from Astats although I don't have much comparison besides achievement stats which seems pretty plain. Also like that I don't have to make an account and the site syncs automatically just by visiting.

What do you mean? It also has achievement points. Unless you're talking about time to beat / complete, but I find HLTB much more reliable for that. And yes, not having to make an account on AStats is a plus, and that makes it wider than TSA, but I still prefer TSA. Friends, goals, stats, milestones... Those are great! xD

Yeah I noticed before that mine had gone crazy, my actual overall points tally hadn't changed though, even though its claiming I should have like 500 points for unlocking Maggie in BoI.

huh, i now only have one “most expensive achievement¨ and it’s a fairly basic one from portal but says “gained by 1 users.” my pie chart looks about the same as it always was though.

It's due to a large code update, at least the crawler has gotten an overhaul. So it's just a temporary thing and everything will return to normal.

Yea, noticed too. Hence the edit an hour ago ^^ Although there are still some really minor issues like the adjusting of the user-scores and some games. Not that it is really a problem.

It's okay. I could have missed it. Although I don't think to many in the forum care for Astats ^^ And you don't switch off your PC overnight? That is a bit wasteful O.o

Then feel now lectured about being wasteful ^^ Although I know several people doing the same. Depending on PC it works as radiator as well. So there are at least some synergy effects

Is that your rank? That's insane O.o Also I'm not sure if the user scores have all been readjusted already. If so I wonder what would cause those huge jumps (I made a leap of around 150 places to for the moment).

Jeah I was surprised, too, when I first visited that site.
Anyhow, with this update though I received 10k points, thats 25% of of my previous Astatspoints. That seems way too much for a little value-adjustment.

I think there still seems to be something wrong.
Total Points and user points show very strange values.
For example Hyperdimension Neptunia has Total Points 307, while I have it complete and only ~197. Furthermore: different pages show different values for some games.

I don't think that update is done, yet.

Yea, that is pretty much the same what I observed. At least those weird achievements values have been fixed. Although now my section is filled with too much Magicka again -_- Do you wanna know how to pimp your Astats score? Complete Magicka. Many of those avchievements aren't that hard but they give a ridicolous amount of points. Well, the same happens for other games where DLC's appear at a much later date.

Ha jeah, I once looked at the insane amount of points Magicka gives as a reward. But jeah, I'm not going to start games because of their astats value. XD I know why I like achievement hunting, but that is about me, who actually gets more out of video games, than it is about showing off my... "skillz". (not that trophy collecting or achievements have much to do with skill in the first place).

Still if they adjust their point-system so that longer games receive more points, that's certainly in my favor. I think right now completing Dark Souls 3 gives ~150points... playing through it may take a good achievement-hunter around 80 hours. I'll probably need 120-150, so that would be 1-2 astats point for every hour played. That's a bit disappointing actually :D

Yea, of course. Luckily I'm not that crazy yet to buy or play a game because it got easy/high score achievements. And hopefully it stays that way. It just irritated me as I finally went back on that ration downer to try myself at the remaining achievements.

For that second paragraph: That is what this update is about? That sounds .... interesting. Granted I probably took longer for certain games to get them completed as some sites suggest. But I still have several games which really take some dedication to do them. If so this update is in my favour as well.

Not sure, but I just read a bit in that thread stehan linked previously and giving more points based on the actual playtime one needs to spent was a suggestion.

But I have no idea, if they really changed it that way. It looked liked that at first, when Skyrim gave like 1300points, but jeah... it would just be "good" for me :D
