Steam Subscription fees

Did you click this link thinking steam was going to add subscription fees?

Quick question, would you use steam if it had Subscription fees? If so, how much would you pay?

I don't think I would have ever started using steam if it had subscription fees, when it started, steam was very unstable. Maybe now I would pay around $5 a month to use the service.

Edit:

It looks like the general conciseness is "No", which is that I was expecting. What if steam offered something else with the subscription, like discounts, special community sections, steaming, better cloud. What would it take for you to pay a fee?

I feel like xbox is charging for a service that should be free to begin with.

I'm a loyal steam user, I spend a significant amount of my money on Steam games. Why should Steam restrict me from doing that? It's like paying a tax on top of another tax.
