1 Ref = $0.48 ???
Did it drop so fast in the last weeks?
I usually calculated 1 Ref = ~$1. Of course you have to pay a little bit more, when you WANT something, but twice the price seems wrong to me. With 6.9 Ref I wouldn't aim for anything below $5.00.

Seems to be the standard price for refined from what I've seen for a long while now.
Not that I agree with it, mind you. $0.48/ref puts keys at $1.22 (2.55 x 0.48) which is half the price they cost in the store. I understand no one would pay $2.50 for a key from a player when they can buy it for that price from the SteamStore, but really... 50% loss as soon as you buy a key is kinda bullshit.
My personal experience with trading for higher value items (I traded one of my B.M.O.C. last year), I got just under $2/key value in a trade for a game.

Keys have a dollar value for $1.50 so 1 ref would be approximately $.50

That means a $19.99 game is currently at 14 keys and 40 ref? I've never seen such a price back then, when I traded. wow...
As I've said, it has been some time. I've traded the very few keys I had for an equivalent price of $2 to $2.50. I got them for trading some game (worth $20 - got 7 keys plus some metal) and I gave them away later for games in a similar range.
BTW: According Mann Co the Keys have a Dollar value of $2.49. Though I understand that this doesn't represent trading, this is still the only $-value for them. Everything else is just the opinion of the seller/buyer. It really makes no sense to buy any key in the store with these prices. Then again it doesn't make sense to buy any key at all...

unless he can get a key or 2 for his stuff (or even some metal), which is basically as good as money. he doesnt need to play tf2 for those things to be worth 'something'.
that said, the amount hed get wouldn't really be worth chasing to be honest. alternatively he could put em up on a tf2 raffle site.

Try selling the hat, beard and the strange detonator for metal (for example on tf2outpost) and convert the other weapons to scrap metal (ingame crafting). Use that metal to get a game.

I was able to acquire Nuclear Dawn and Poker Night at the Inventory for about 2 keys but I had a hard time getting beat hazard. Know the market, know what you want and find someone is reasonable. Used steamtrades.com to find people. You should be able to get something for 1 key, just don't be picky.

Well if you want fast not profitable solution to make metal/keys from your items.. put them on tf2wh.
But if you want to get more from your items and you have time, trade them on trade server or on tf2outpost.
tf2wh is site, where you get less than you should, but it is easy so nobody is complaining and devs are in heaven

Craft them into metal, trade metal for keys, use keys to buy other games that don't revolve around hats.

You can probably find more money lying on the floor if you go to a subway station. If you are lucky you can afford fortix after a week. If you aren't, you will probably be able to afford it after a month. Not worth it definitely.

Yeah, it's not because I can't manage it, whatever that means, it's because it's not worth it, and because I don't need it. If you want to make money from the game, get into trading. Idling is pointless. Also, idle servers? lol

What is the best thing to do with my items I found? I guess I could give them all away, or trade in them a site like TF2WH for key(s)and try and get something out of it by trying to trade the keys to someone. What are your suggestions?
