Yup yup, though it's rather difficult to get real deep dish delivered to me now! XD
On the plus side, it forced me to learn how to make it myself and through much trial and error I have a reasonably decent deep dish pizza in my cooking arsenal now. :)

Just out of curiosity, is pizza very popular in Japan?
I'm curious what their interpretation of what a "good" pizza is and what toppings are popular ...

Pizza here is pretty popular, though it tends more towards either the Italian style or California style with a complex array of "fusiony" toppings. A lot of the pizza concoctions here make most palettes used to standard American fair go "WTF?!" -- some of them are actually quite good and incredibly unique, others I avoid like the plague (stuff with egg, mayo, sweet/creamy sauces are generally in my no-go zone).

Hrm, most of those look pretty good!
Like you, I'd avoid ... well, actually all the same things you avoid ... my pizza has to have marinara and mozzarella on it (at the very least). For some reason I pictured Japan as including more seafood on their pizzas (I'm allergic to most seafood), but honestly, I'd at least try all of those pizzas pictured, and most look delicious! :)

Ah yes, seafood -- squid and crab are pretty popular toppings, but I actually like those. Though stranger things do exist, they are probably somewhat exaggerated in scope and availability because there's a tendency to paint Japan as this totally weird place when it's actually fairly normal -- it's just the eccentricities get more attention.
