You could be right. It's not Very Positive in overall reviews, though, just recent ones. And I wouldn't really say a lamp is a peculiar tool (though not usually found on foreheads). Also, it's actually a runner, not a platformer. On all these points, though, it's down to the interpretation of an individual whether they would agree or disagree. And one of the tags assigned to it is "Atmospheric"...
I hope it's not Lamp Head, though. When I first came across it, I misunderstood what it was, taking it, in fact, for a platformer, and actually wishlisted it. Then came back and actually watched the trailer, realized how banal and boring it was, and was rather displeased.

I don't consider runners platformers either. As far as I am concerned a defining characteristic of a platformer is having control over locomotion/propulsion. I don't really care for runners as I am generally a mechanics-driven gamer and from that standpoint I find them to be too simplistic and rudimentary. To me, in a way a runner represents the opposite of the experience that I am looking for, it's taking away mechanics and not really replacing them with anything interesting enough to get me engaged. There's also the fact that many of them give the impression of very low production quality junk that invaded the PC realm from the mobile one, so that certainly doesn't help either.
