Have added a few interesting entries to my wishlist this week, figured I would share:

Cloudpunk - https://store.steampowered.com/app/746850/Cloudpunk/

Your name is Rania. This is your first night working for Cloudpunk, the semi-legal delivery company based in the sprawling city of Nivalis. You go everywhere, from the Marrow below to the spires that pierce the grey clouds high above before scraping the edge of the troposphere. No delivery job is too dangerous, and no one is faster than a Cloudpunk driver.

Paws and Soul - https://store.steampowered.com/app/911510/Paws_and_Soul/

Paws and Soul is a third-person adventure game about rebirth, where you will visit a mysterious forest as a wolf. The story about a man that you’ll see with animal eyes is extended by fascinating gameplay focused on exploration and searching for collectibles. Look for clues about your past life, reveal bonus stories about other people and enjoy breathtaking views. You are completely safe here, so relax and let your curiosity run wild! Find out how the lives of the wolf and the human are connected and reveal the secret of reincarnation.

Moving Out - https://store.steampowered.com/app/996770/Moving_Out/

It’s orientation day at the Smooth Move company. To become certified Furniture Arrangement & Relocation Technician (F.A.R.T.), employees need to pop the training tape into the VCR and take in the dos and don’ts of moving furniture. Train alone or with friends in this action, puzzle, physics based moving simulator. Expect plot twists, irreverent humor, cameos and borderline trademark infringing scenarios as you complete the 50+ levels. With party mode you'll be able to compete for the highest score locally or against the community.

Any unique, upcoming games pique your interest recently? Tell us about them!

Backspace Bouken

Backspace Bouken is a Japanese-inspired old-school dungeon crawler with a fast-paced typing battle system and ridiculous storyline. Fight monsters by typing their dialogue as you progress through the game and climb the tower. Fast and accurate typing will be rewarded, and maybe you'll even become a better typer!

There's a lot of great games in this thread and I'd like to take a moment to plug one. If you like the original Zelda, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past or games like it I have a feeling you will love this. Hazelnut Bastille

Hazelnut Bastille had a kickstarter goal of $65,000 and finished with $177,000 and had over 4k backers. It will be releasing on Windows, Mac, Linux, Nintendo Switch and PS4 with the estimated delivery to backers in October 2020.

You can watch the first trailer here

If it looks appealing to you can download the demo on the Aloft Studio website

Ostriv has a Steam page!

Ostriv is a city-building game that puts you in a role of a governor of an 18th century town to challenge your creative skills and management abilities.

.

Ostriv aims to raise the bar of city-building experience by adding a huge amount of possibilities and removing annoying limitations. It allows for truly organic town layouts without the grid and angle restrictions on a three-dimensional landscape. The goal is to make player’s creations to become alive and believable communities where real-life problems would arise, thus making the late game a new challenge rather than a repetitive chore.

Adding 5 more :)

1. Alchemy Story

Discover a world of magic, cute creatures and adventure in Alchemy Story, a casual farming simulation game! Grow your garden, brew potions, care for your pets and meet new friends!

  • If you really liked My Time at Portia, Staxel and Verdant Skies, you'll love this one :)

2. Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars

Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars is an engaging strategy game set in a dark vampire world in turmoil, that combines empire management and turn-based combat with unique card-game elements.

  • I checked out the beta (1st mission of the first campaign where you play as the vampire faction) and it was fun! It's just that the game still has some glitches; it isn't well-optimized yet; and well, the game crashed at the end :P

3. Frontline ZED

In the midst of a zombie outbreak, defend your fortified barricade by night, and collect weapons and conduct repairs by day. Survive long enough to make your way through America and towards rescue.

  • I've always liked zombie survival games and this one looks interesting enough :)

4. Monster Sanctuary

Monster taming meets metroidvania. Collect, train and battle monsters in a lovely side-view pixel world.

5. Decay of Logos

Immerse yourself in the world of Decay Of Logos and unravel its mysteries. Explore old dungeons, battle unforgiving foes and journey through a vibrant interconnected fantasy realm with your mystical elk companion.

Frontline ZED is like a very-HD version of the flash game The Last Stand. But so much that even the looting-map looks almost the same :D
They even say that on their twitter but it's so similar it would be hard to hide. And afterall, it is a very well received series.

It's not their game as far as I can tell, just inspired by it. I do recommend trying them out, it really has a good base to build on (just like how the much bigger Rebuild 3 grown out of the previous flash games)

Wow, Thanks a lot ! :o Maybe I'll give it a try, when it'll be available.

By the way, nobody tells about Summer Catchers ?
It's a really great and refreshing endless runner / Road Trip story. And maybe my best Indie-game surprise-discovery, this past month.

MO:Astray

The game seems to take inspiration from Ori and the Blind Forests movement system, and has a rather decent pixel art based aesthetic. I think it looks fun (though its a shame all the NPCs / enemies move like badly animated puppets).

The thread had a flavour of "that you haven't heard about".

Part of this list are the next in a line of big titles, like Wastleand 3, Xenonauts 2, Baldurs Gate 3, Kerbal Space Program 2, and there's even the Spyro Reignited Trilogy in there. Plus quite a number of 'simulator' titles and a few 'tycoons' in there.

I appreciate your effort given the quality of some of the links but the wall of text hurts. A little formatting or seperation might have helped, furthermore- HOLY SHIT there's a legit Startopia remake / fresh take in there!? Okay I mean the humour in the preview video feels off, but the screencaps make it look like the gameplay might be on a similar level to the original.

Okay, forget what I said about the painful wall of links, I'm gonna just hug this one discovery for a while.
Disregard me. Thanks!

Adding 2 puzzle games :)

  1. Railed

Railed is a casual, train-themed, open-ended puzzle game that is quick to learn, easy to play, and difficult to master. Lay railways and build tracks to connect stations and gold mines while accomplishing random challenges. Navigate mountains, bonus tiles, and your own creations to dominate a global leaderboard.

  • I've played this and it's quite fun... and also tough, due to getting randomized train tracks and restrictions as to where I can place them, tbh. Here's a gameplay video if you're interested
  1. Playerless: One Button Adventure

Discover Playerless, the game set in another game. Your character has become self-aware, you can only use one button to play, the AI has formed a sect - and the game engine is a physical mechanism.

  • Looks like a pretty cool puzzle game :)
