Don't think the US will win one game in that group.

Realistically, the US should aim to beat Ghana and draw against Portugal in the first two games as their best shot of advancing. If Germany beats Portugal in the first game and Ghana in the second as expected, they would essentially wrap up the group on top, making it far more likely that the US could pull off a draw since there's less incentive to go full out and risk injury/suspensions.

However Löw usually wants to win all games. And Löw vs Klinsmann is a prestige match. Finishing the group on top is also very desired, since the first spot will most likely have an easier group of 16 match.

Still I wouldn't underestimate the US. Klinsmann is a great motivator. In that matter it might even be an advantage to play against the team that kicked them out 2010 and 2006 (in the group stages) and the team that kicked them out 2002. There are also several players in the US team, that play at German clubs, which could help not only against Germany, but also against Portugal (since Ronaldo almost always struggles with German sides).

Erm I think it will be

1st Germany, 2nd Portugal 3rd Ghanna, 4th USA

Most probably we will see result similar to U-20 World Cup 2013. USA lost sooooooooo hard with Ghanna, that it was painful to watch.

Spain - Netherlands... mmmm, i have seen that before... and then, 1st G.A vs 2nd G.B // 2nd G.A vs 1st G.B so it can be Brazil - Spain (two of the favorites) on second round. Con lo bonito que sería una final Brasil-España jeje.

I think that Russia will have to beat South Korea to have a chance of progression. Those two are pretty close.

South Korean here. The press here are talking about how lucky Korea is by avoiding all other 'stronger' countries. Weird eh?

We'll see. Given the current FIFA ranking, it is the highest ranked group. But then again who cares about the ranking and the Mannschaft should be capable to beat any team.

Despite widespread reports of logistical issues, recent stadium repairs, and social unrest, Brazil's sports minister promised "this will be the greatest party in the world" only a few days ago.

I'll admit this is beginning to feel quite bittersweet. While many are optimistic that the "spirit of the event" will inspire peaceful celebration, many more are hoping this sheds light on both the failings of Brazilian state and government and the negligence of FIFA overall.

Large scale events such as the Olympics and World Cup are supposed to invigorate a country's local economies and empower the public at large, not allow extreme mismanagement of funds and forced eviction of its citizens.

It's kinda big mystery, it might be great and happy event… or it might be disaster. I remember how everyone were talking before Ukraine 2012 European Championship that it will be disaster… it was ok methinks. Before Winter Olympics in Sochi we heard the same thing: people suffering, citizens driven out of their homes, arguments that money should be invested in schools and medical care… and again it was ok methinks.

So we won’t know what will happen really.

But the other question is: whether Brazilians really need World Cup… I mean take a look at all sport objects in Athens 2004 all objects ruined… why the hell did they decide to host it when they couldn’t even manage it.

HOORAY!

Also, Ross Barkley the wonderkid to get all-consumed by the pressure being heaped on him by the press that he actually morphs into an agouti and slinks away into the Brazilian rainforest never to be heard of again.

Meanwhile, someone set up us the 'Suarez Bad Behaviour Bingo' - I think Uruguay will get through to the semi finals and, in frustration at not being given a penalty for having been blown over by a mild sigh coming from a member of the crowd he's going to full on bum the referee.
