So, after five or so years, my classic plan of a year ran out... and I'm wondering If I skipped that many months, should even resubscribe for another year at €128...

seems like it is just not worth it at all

I'm debating just cancelling my Classic plan. I was charged again when I paused (for like the third time) and I buy one, maybe two Choice bundles a year. I forget what advantages being on a Classic gives, but I'm wondering if its worth the trouble of pausing every month when sometimes it just goes ahead anyway.

It's an easy ticket to get a refund so I'm not particularly concerned about that, but I'm wondering if I should just truly cancel, and only get a Choice if and when a month's bundle is interesting to me.

The thing I remember is that classic is a lower price, then the regular 12 vs 15 or so?

I thought it might be something like only getting some games rather than all? Which worst case for me would be fewer games to give away. I guess I'd potentially lose out on the discount they offer each month to try and entice keeping the month active too.

No, I always god all games, originally it was that you had to choose true, but when they switched to the all games thing, When I was keeping classic I also got all of them, I didn't have the choose restriction of the classic humble bundle setup.

I think the price was the only difference since you are a legacy customer. And when you cancel there is no way to get it back. You have to pay the current price. At least from what I remember when I still had it. 2-3 years ago.

There aren't really any advantages anymore. The price is same (it can be actually even higher than the normal one) and you get all the games every time nowadays.
I also had the classic subscription, but I cancelled it and now I actually get even better deals! When I get a coupon for pausing, it costs me only 5 euros. :)
Although, I remember doing it through some link I found on here, but I don't really remember where...

It used to be cheaper to be Classic (either because bundle was cheaper or you had more choices), but nowadays there are no advantages.

If nothing has changed since I cancelled my classic sub, you were actually at a disadvantage if you kept Classic and were paying in some other currency besides US dollar. For me the exchange rate made it more expensive then cancelling and getting regular choice which they made available to buy in your own currency.

If you're wondering, than you already have your answer. It's not really worth what little you save by paying them for a whole year in advance for bundles you will skip every month, most likely. Better just sub when you want a monthly instead and cancel when you don't.

I can only hope you regret it later because that would mean the bundles for the coming year are better than they've been ;)

You could have asked HB for a refund on the month that was charged.
As long as you didn't reveal the bundle at all, they're usually more than happy to roll it back.

the yearly humble plans cost far more then just canceling every month and getting the monthly deals

I've never had much luck getting monthly deals, so I'm on a annual sub (got a deal for the annual sub though). Also, the discount for the HB store has been good though.

cancel every single month as soon as you pick up games unless its a multi month deal and i get the new deals almost every time. the very few times i didnt, got them sent to my 2nd humble account, only reason i have 2nd one is cause they pull this shit. well i have not purchased every deal, ive never missed one getting sent them

I let go of mine about 2 years ago. Then they hit me up with offers to get 3-6 months for about $6-$8 but without the ability to pause. I cancel again once it's over and then they do another offer every couple of months.

I canceled instantly when they said that regular choice will cost 11 EUR or whatever, but classic will be converted from 12$ and will be more expensive in EUR. The whole logic is abysmal and very anti consumer. If they change payment systems they could have easily done for everything. Not selectively single out only the classic subscription to be more expensive. IMO it was quite clear on their side they wanted to get rid of classic subs. As there is 0 reason to keep it anymore anyway. There is no extra games or perks.

As some have said I just skip every month and subscribe when they have 3 month deals. I have the current one active which gives me choice for 5 EUR a month... They basically dug their own grave here.
