it says that the free version won't drop cards but from what I've seen the app doesn't even have cards, please correct me if I'm wrong

Conspiracy theory time:
This was Valve's idea. Their plan was to make this free, so there'll be more shit-tier asset-flippers who will pay Valve $100 to get their trash onto the store. If enough people do that, they won't even have to bother cleaning up their storefront anymore, they'll just get their cash from "devs" instead getting it from customers/gamers
