Coupons usually don't work on preorders. You can apply any valid coupon to an order and it will show in the cart. It won't actually discount every product though. You can try it with FANATICAL15 (see https://www.fanatical.com/coupons-vouchers-codes) or one of the personalized 5% off coupons you get with an order.
My guess is: it looked just like this when you tried it last month and you misinterpreted it to actually apply an additional discount, which it never did.

I wrote down the final price of MH Wilds Deluxe Edition with the 18% preorder discount + 7% discount which was $68.62 from looking at the shopping cart price. Also, if you look at my reply with Mayanaise, I have provided a screenshot of an extra 7% being taken off the price for Premium Deluxe Edition from someone else's purchase history. There was a brief moment in time when discount coupons worked for pre-ordered games.

Yes, which is why I do not often pre-order from Fanatical because coupons cannot be used typically. And when a rare moment does come like right now, I missed out on it.

Currently, when a game or bundle is purchased on Fanatical during their Birthday Bash Sale event in November, there is an opportunity to receive a 7% discount coupon as a free gift (example below) which I obtained. Earlier in November the discount could be applied to pre-ordering Monster Hunter Wilds and I had both the game and coupon in the shopping cart, but I did not buy the game yet until after I have played the open beta (October 31 - November 3, 2024). Today (November 15) I have decided to buy Monster Hunter Wilds, so I thought the 7% birthday coupon would still work, but unfortunately not. I am currently in contact with Fanatical support and the customer service representative seems confused about the dilemma. Therefore, if anyone already purchased MH Wilds with a 7% coupon and could provide a screenshot that both things worked I would highly appreciate the assistance.
Edit: There is/was no indication on the Fanatical website the discount code would stop working with buying Monster Hunter Wilds.
