we will be sad when our little mouse goes too, she is about 8 months old and really sassy, not afraid of anything. loves a magic ride around the room on my hand!
We also have 2 wild mice living in our shed, its really cold out, so we put a bag of peanuts down (the bird bag ones) so they have something to eat. Hopefully there wont be too many of them come the spring. lol

Aww I'm so sorry to hear this... Death is an inevitable part of life, but it's still always schocking when you have to face it. Especially if it's someone close to you that's facing their sad fate. Pets are members of the family so of course it hurts to lose them, pets aren't any less valuable than human companions. I wish you all good and I hope you can stay strong during these harsh times... :<

Sorry to hear :'( I remember when my hamster died on NY eve few years ago... I was (and still am) devastated because no matter how hard I tried to help him (he was sick, bought him when he was very small and ridden with some skin disease) he couldn't make it :(
I remember all the tears as I patted him and watched him take his last breath in...
For everyone else he "just a pet" but for you he's someone special. May mr. Chauncey rest in peace.

My family has had dozens of hamsters, guinea pigs and even a rat at some point. Some had horrible deaths and sure they were only little critters, but these things still haunt me. What do you think - Should kids grow up with so much death? You do learn about the fragility of life, but seeing your sister in tears cause your mother just accidentally crushed one of your dwarf hamsters doesn't exactly help.
Welp sorry for your mouse, but that's pretty much what you sign up for when you get a little pet like that :[

Some might say "It's just a mouse", but whatever. She was part of this household. She got sick recently. We took her to the vet and got her some meds, but it wasn't enough or too late. She didn't seem to be getting any better, and today I could tell she was getting worse. We heard her make a noise from her cage, so we went over there, and she had a seizure and died right in front of us... terrible to see and to feel so helpless. That part was over pretty quick so hopefully she did not suffer too much. RIP Chauncey.
Maybe seeing someone really enjoy winning a giveaway will help cheer me up a bit... so here we go. It's a bundle game, but one that I really enjoyed and has cute animals.
