Maybe this is already recommended to you, sorry if I repeat. If you like Pulp Fiction, I recommend to watch Oldboy, original Korean (not American, it's terrible), at the Cannes Film Festival maestro Tarantino cried while watching and wanted to give it the grand prize. And if you like wonderful Twin Peaks, I recommend other Lynch films, especially Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive (it was recognized as the best film of the last decade by many critics).
I didn't watch a lot of TV shows and I think it is possible to fully evaluate it only after the end, so from those that have already ended Breaking Bad (absolute masterpiece among TV shows), The Shield (about police, not marvel's) and Sons of Anarchy (the beginning is a bit boring, but further...) and Dexter.
And happy belated cakeday (sorry that it's so late).
