This is a great idea especially now considering that registration is disabled. It'll cut down on the massive begging that scares away most members like GLaPOS and drives mods like Cult insane.

This certainly would make the site more exclusive

This is an interesting idea, but that's what caused people to beg and sell invites in the first place.

Why is it open to non-members for starters?

-1. If the Steam Group goes private there will be people requesting group invites...everywhere, and those wanting invites to the site will start bugging members of the group moreso than is happening currently.

What if we have 2 groups, one for invites as proving grounds, and one invite only?
