It's been feature complete for a while now, so I think that removes some of the sparkle and shine of a launch. They did a great job in early access and the game is incredible.

Well technically it's only been complete since last week when they added the intro cinematic and voice overs :)

I should have said content complete; that's really what I was thinking. They did add those nice things recently.

Good to see early accesgames actually being finished

Early Access+kickstarted. But in Grim Dawn's case it was never really a worry since part of the team is made up of industry veterans.

That can reduce the chance of a failure to it will always be there. Long and technical projects may encounter lots of difficulties along the road.

I know but i'v been following the project for years, long before i bought it last year, and it never seemed like the case with it. To my knowledge they've always more or less met deadlines in the past they met all deadlines last year.

1 year at least. It's not exactly a genre that's swarming with titles. Victor Vran, another early access ARPG title has been out 6 months or so and it's still not been in a bundle. GD is a much more popular title.

i hope they don't bundle it soon and keep getting a nice income from it. i'd like to see this game evolve like diablo 3 did, with updates and new items/maps every 3-4 months.

Looks pretty awesome, and if it's anything similar to torchlight 2, which I enjoyed quite a lot, I might consider buying it :3

Feels like forever indeed. I had even forgotten that this game was still developed. :O lol

Is it really a worthy sequel by the way? The first Titan Quest in particular had an amazing expansion. Expansion area was actually better and more atmospheric than the main game.

Well it's not really a sequel in anything but usage of the same engine. The world and story have nothing to do with Titan Quest. Imho they've nailed the atmosphere they were going for, the first act seems to be giving people the wrong impression for some reason(generic zombie apocalypse) but the game's world and the lore(i recommend reading all the bits of lore you find along the way, they really help immerse you in the world) are all great. And, without spoiling anything, there's lots of little things that make the world really feel dark and...well... grim. There's also decisions your character makes that have visible and sometimes very bad, effects on the world around you.

Still clunky of combat mechanic.

Sigh.

When will I ever find anything better than Diablo 3?

Clunky in what way? I'v never had any issues with the combat.

No, i know it's popular to hate D3 but in terms of polish no other ARPG on the market beats it. However it's unreasonable to expect such a thing to begin with, Diablo 3 was developed by a huge team with AAA budget, Grim Dawn was made by 8 people on 537.000$ from the KS+ whatever they got from sales on their website and Steam. Imho Grim Dawn is a fantastic game considering considering it's circumstances . The same can be said for Path of Exile and Victor Vran, they all had limited budgets and small teams behind them and turned out great.

This game has story ? Or it is just a hack n slash game ? I played Titan Quest but i didn't like because there was no proper story.

Yes, it has a pretty good story supported by really good bits of lore you find along the way. Titan Quest had a good story too it just took a while to get going with it.

That sucks, i had CTD issues on a couple of last year's major patches. They're still patching it almost daily so i hope your issue is resolved mate...

yeah i had this game for few years but i've never booted it since i waited to come out EA.Folks say that the last build messed up the game, but for the guys like me that run WinXp,they've messed up few mouths prior. That is optimization issue since we all have the same bugs,we play for like 10-30 min or longer with no problem and it crashes at random points after that.Besides it uses the old Titan Quest engine and as i recall correctly, that game had the same issues before it was fixed.

Been enjoying it for awhile! Looks like today they broke their all-time peak. Btw if you didn't see their announcement:

"Though the release is now a part of history, this does not mean that we will not continue to support the game. You can still look forward to more updates, modding tools, Survival Mode and a full Expansion."

I'm actually hoping they make enough money from sales for a second expansion as well. Because the first one and mod tools were already promised from their kickstarter :) I hope they add a dedicated ranged class, probably Gunslinger and a Necromancer, these two seem to be the most requested classes :D

I agree! That'd be pretty fun to see some more classes. What combo do you play currently? How much did you back them? I saw they were thinking of physical copies with poster/map, but honestly I just want to see someone wearing a powdered wig

I didn't actually back their KS because i had no idea there was one at the time :P I knew about the game since it came out on steam but i only bought it back in August last year, i pretended it didn't exist until it was mostly done because otherwise the wait would have killed me :D

At the moment i deleted everything i previously had and restarted as 3 pure builds, a Soldier, an Occultist and yesterday i made the rogue one, i always forget their name :) I think i'm gonna mix the soldier with a Shaman for some extra 2h power, the Occultist might also get mixed with the shaman so i can grab it's pet and the rogue dude is might get mixed with Soldier for Cadence and another skills who's name escapes me atm.
