Rebel Galaxy has some good music with the vibe you described.

I really like Fallout 3 and New Vegas ambient. It is very atmospheric, and totally supplements game.
In fact, I am returning to this game many times more to feel this wastelands with their environments and ambient, then to play. That's why this games feeling like experience from a complete different Uneverce.)
