Does the site make two giveaways for one game 50% of the time for anyone else? Do I lose giveaway slots deleting giveaways that weren't my fault?

You lose a slot if you cancel it unfortunately, and I have not had it bug for me, but I have seen it for others.

Yes, ended giveaways with no entries don't make you lose a slot. They don't affect you in any way.
Make sure to always click the "Confirm Giveaway" button only once. If you double click, or click again while it's loading, that's probably why you get 2 giveaways.

you don't need to delete it if it's invite-only. no one can see the url so it will end without winners.

just be careful of ramen noodles, the packages sometimes aren't airtight, in which case the noodles get musty and will give you diarrhea.
edit, mainly talking about the rectangular block of noodles in thin plastic, don't have much experience with the Styrofoam cup type
