Did you play any other moba before? I mean it has a high learning curve you have to dig yourself in long time to even learn basics. And community isn't a healthy one either. I have been playing since the start of season 2 with some pauses and i left it last year completely. I was playing only ARAMs then i left it either because it's not fun anymore. It's a great game but people ruins it for me. So my best advice start as a 4-5 people if you can. If not, don't bother.

It is.. or used to .. dont know how it is right now since I quited after Season 3 for several reasons.

1. People will harass you if you pick a non-meta Champion - I tend to try new playstyles in casual games but when people start calling you names and then ruin the game for you just because you picked a non-meta champ you tend to just quit the game altogether.
2. People ruining the game due to childing behaviour( "OMG I wanted mid but you took it from me so I will feed!!!") or poor comunication with rest of the team ( in one of my last games I picked a support character and right after that one guy went "You know what, we are due bottom so you need to go top" and I couldnt switch my starting build so... support character against a bruiser... fun fun fun.. still won my lane but was the last drop for me before quiting)
   3. Rare missuse of the Tribunal system - people just clicking Yes/Ban or w/e is without checking the actual reports .
   4. Elitism in Ranked games - in Season 3 due to bad placement games(5wins/5 lost) I ended up in silver 2 and my personal goal was Gold 5(just for some stupid rewards that I never saw afterwards) . I got to Gold 5 with 18 wins and 1 lost and was mainly being placed in games with Platinum players.... the amount of shit I had to take at the start of each game due to my Silver league was too damn high.... still wondering at myself how I didnt throw any of those games as support just for the sake of ruining their fun.

Honestly I will take Dota 2/CSGO russians over LOL community any time of the day... at least I can have fun with them talking about Soviet Union or sing the theme while everybody else is cursing us.
