I was trading a few Humble Choice leftovers when I have stumbled upon this curious event:

The trader warned the key for Project Warlock might be used and went before me, I tried the key and was in fact duplicated, when I told them that they offered me The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters (which was also an option in the trade), when I redeemed the key it appeared as Project Warlock (PICTURE 1), I thought the trader made a mistake but when I checked my library I saw The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters and no sign of Project Warlock (PICTURE2). It's even bizarre that even the receipt tells it's Project Warlock (PICTURE 3). Everything went well in this trade, I just find it weird that Steam accused the reddemption of the previous game and activated the new one.

PS.: Don't mind Iffy, she's my desktop mascot.

Wow, that's interesting... maybe try contacting steam support?

I didn't have any problem with that, so I didn' even bother.

That's completely normal. It's just a minor glitch that has existed for years and occurs when you try to activate multiple keys in a row. (maybe only if you don't close the Activate product window)

No need to contact Support about it. They won't be able to help you, probably not even to explain why it happened.

Oh, so it's common. Anyway, everything went well with the trade, so conctacting the support would be unnecessary.

Yep, it happened a few times and it's a bug. After an unsuccessful key activation, the next key (different game) appeared as [a successful activation of] the former, while it had actually activated the last/intended one.

Lately I have encountered also another bug. When activating a key, a few times it says that I already have the game, while it just got activated.

I usually get this one when redeeming on the brower. I activate a game I do not own, the system says I already own it and the game just shows up in the library.

Happened to me once when trading for a friend. Trader accidentally gave him a Tales From the Borderlands key that worked.
He wasn't mad either and gave the original game (forgot what it was at the time) and we are still steam friends.

Not that the game trade was wrong, the trader gave me a key for game a, both Steam client and the receipt accuses it is game B, but when I check the library, it's actually game A.

Yep, this seems to be a common bug when activating multiple keys in a row, the interface mixes up the games under some circumstances, in your case likely triggered by the duplicate key and then trying a working key afterwards without clearing the browser.

From what you showed us, the receipt is the one generated from the same page when trying to export it, so it can only display what is already shown, which is already incorrect. I assume that you should have received a proper e-mail receipt upon activation, which shows the correct game.

Also, awesome desktop mascot. 😄

Think of some such things as existing.
There are many derivations of "Ukagaka" ...
Some of them are generated from MMD data, so I think they are dealing with such things. (Maybe)

However, the summoning cost ... seems to consume a lot of memory.💻🔥 ∑(・Θ・ノ)ノ

This one is also imports from MMD, both models and poses / dances.

Precisely, depending of how much memory you have or it you're about to run something that requires a lot, like GTA V, it would be better to close the software for a while. :/

Well, that explains a lot. Indeed, in the licences page in Steam says it is The Coma 2.

Thanks, I love having her around the screen. xD

"34 amigos jogaram no passado"

It's DesktopMMD, it was delisted due to copyrights reasons. The developer recommended another one that those almost the same thing: Desktop Magic Engine, I haven't tried it though.

As above comments state, yes. This still happens and you can make it happen any time. Save a used key, try to redeem it, then use a new key, you'll see the previous name appear. It's a bug, and harmless.

Yeah, it's harmless, but still quite a curious bug.

Never happened to me, though I usually use the website to activate a key.

Did you check this page: https://store.steampowered.com/account/licenses/, what is listed under item name?

Yes, it is the game the trader gave the key for, it is bothe in the licences page and my library, only that brief moment the client thought it was the previous game I tried to redeem.

Yes, this happened to me before and I was pretty pissed off about it because they tried substituting the second game and I declined. They then told me they "found" a copy of the original game and just gave me the sub instead and it took me a few days to figure out the problem.

I don't remember when, but yes, it happened once to me, I don't remember if it was a "legit" case or just testing it (If I remember well, it goes haywire after trying to use used keys, but not even all the time, even then.)
