One of my biggest problems recently has been laze. I'm just no longer motivated to do anything anymore, be it work on my assessments, my private projects meant to starve me from boredom, keep my Tumblr updated, do voice acting for people or even play video games...

So, what's the best way to make yourself do anything? Because, frankly at this stage I'll take any suggestions. I need to get out of this phase and quickly.

I motivate myself by saying, if I don't do anything now if I die today, no one will remember me. And I want just one person to remember me.

Turn off your distractions, it's very easy to simply derp around on the computer, phone, etc. Try to schedule "project time" for 1-2 hours a day (but per week works also) to wholly focus on a creative endeavor. Don't be shy about your "project time" and refer to it as such with your friends/family; talking about it openly will help keep yourself accountable.

We have more distractions and obligatory tasks today than in any other time in history, it takes a little planning to allow yourself to turn down the white noise in your life.

Leave your mind in blank, and do something you like for a couple of hours and completely unrelated to what you are trying to get motivated to do.

For example, I cry in my bed for hours before drawing so I don't remember how shit my work is! :D

Good question. I am a pretty lukewarm, mild person, I don't get passionate about anything easily. For me, starting something is the highest threshold. Once I finally get off my butt ( lo and behold, lack of discipline rears its ugly, yet fluffy head) and start something, I generally do keep doing it, because I get into it and start to get on a roll. I do need to make sure nothing in particular distracts me (playing music distracts me, e.g.).

I can only imagine that you sometimes become the exact mirror image of Rage Guy when that happens. latey, my computer behaves fairly well, so I've not been tempted to sob or slam the mouse a couple of times on my desk (though I generally only do that when things crash or run into errors too often, too fast) ;)

EDIT: seriously though, ive struggled with that my whole life. I don't have anything i really enjoy or doing(besides tv + videogames). So i've tried plenty of things, nothing really perked my interests. I did recently find that making my brother and family happy is a great feeling so ive been working on that.

Here, have this: Top Five Regrets of The Dying

Should help you prioritize.

And no, I'm not joking. Trust me, I've done a fair amount in my life at this point, but until recently I haven't prioritized right. That's changing now, though.

Well, it is a good anime but its not for kids that is for sure. If you are ok with ecchi. The anime involves Angels,Demons, and Fallen Angels... oh and the Main character is probably one of the biggest perverts I think a main protagonist has ever been :P

It also has fighting in it of course, fairly funny as well. Another anime I could suggest that has some ecchi but not as bad as Highschool DXD is Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka? . Slight spoiler is one character actually pukes rainbows lol.

When I need motivation I look for something that can make me feel the most useless person in the world. Then I watch one of my favourite films or listen to music that inspires me and makes me motivated. So I feel thankful and I know that I have to make something similar, something that can inspire and motivate people, too. If I won't do that then I don't deserve all the things that inspires me.

That's the thing, there's this game I'm currently designing, but I've just kind of lost a passion to do anything for it. And it's not as though I've lost a passion for all game design or on this specific project, because it's never been higher. I just can never stop myself from putting it off.

Watch TON of stuff (be it youtube, read a book, or simply listen to music), don't be afraid to try new things (a new genre, a not so played game, etc), once you think you've done enough, even if for a day, talk to a friend, one you know you can talk to without much of an issue, and one that you know will have his own opinion.

Mention him everything you've done, what did you like, what you didn't like, what got you bored, and what stroke your curiousness even if just a bit. If the person is at least a little bit worth it, by then you'll have a crap ton of stuff to think about, and keep you active to pick things up again.

You don't have any friends? Are you a loner like myself? Break the ice, go and talk to whoever you cross on a grocery store, ask his opinion on a product, or just mention how crappy/nice the weather is. You'd be surprised to see how releaving it can be to have at least 5 seconds of meaningful interaction with someone, even if it's like once a month (i try to keep it once every 2 months though).

Still don't like the idea of talking to someone? Vsauce

step 3. ???

Step 4. MAXIMUM MOTIVATION!

Alt method:

it's not get pumped music, but it kind of puts the day in a weird perspective.
