Can Steamgifts not provide links to our Steam profile? Here's why. BLOODY WEIRDO!!!

I think public profiles are needed so that people can check if a giver is genuine. If you don't like wierd people, don't accept requests from strangers.

I got two weirdos yesterday begging me to give them portal 2, because I have a portal 2 giveaway, because they had no money and yadadadadadada.

Believe me, it's not my first time. There was even a prick who asked me for an invite. When I refused he started throwing all sorts of vulgarities at me.

He was also trying to get around paying his local price, shouldn't that get him banned from this site?

Ignore the friend request and/or set your profile to private.

When I get someone like that adding me I usually just say "no, sorry" then remove them immediately.

To be fair, he wasn't begging... yet. He was looking to pay in USD (most likely) because some games are overpriced in Europe (which is why he asked where you were from). He realized you're a bit "slow", and moved on without a fuss. You're the real weirdo here, linking his profile, trying to shame him (I guess lol).

I sort of expected some kind of harassment, but I haven't had any. Are you less likely to attract jerks if you stick to group giveaways (even if it's just SGifts)?

I think it would be good if closed game deals would not show up on the page once they have been marked sent and received.

Because there are actually people who search through the closed games for a title they want, so they can beg it from people who gave it in the past.

If the begging were restricted to just the time the giveaway is open and then until the person receives it, it would be better!

I never accept friend requests unless I know them from somewhere else and have talked to them at least once before. This is the reason why.
