What do you recommend?
Personally, I would find a train with several games more interesting than one big game. With a train, there's a higher chance for each user to find a game that interests them, and you have several different winners in the end. If it's just one big game, if someone is just not interested in the game, the entire event is not for them, and out of all the people participating, only one will actually win something.
But that's just my thoughts, it is your money and your decision.
I also considered giving away a few games I’ve played a lot myself, but that might be a bit too niche.
I wouldn't mind that at all; one of the things I love about this site is learning about games I would have never heard about otherwise.
Oh, and if I’m sending a gift directly to a friend, should I choose “Gift” as the Type of Giveaway?
Yes, if you intend to send the game directly through Steam, you choose "Gift". You can also choose "Gift" if you want to add a key later.
Thank you for the giveaways!

I voted for a variety of games as well. Maybe pick something you personally liked to play or get some inspiration from the Community Wishlist (you can sort by price).

Yes, if you plan on using Steam to send a gift to people, you should select the "gift" option... but are you aware of region restrictions when you do that? I can explain if needed.

Thanks, Overlord.
Are you referring to the price difference when you mention that point of caution?
I think Japan should probably be okay... but I’d like to avoid any risks, so I’m thinking of buying it from either Fanatical or Green Man Gaming.

Yes that's what I meant... yeah in Italy I need to be careful about Switzerland only, you should be mostly fine in Japan too probably

It depends, I think more expensive (or more well-known) games do have a higher chance of being played by the winner, while giving away a bunch of game bundles of not so well-known games does make it so many more people actually win a game but it also has a higher chance of the games never actually being played by the person who won them and just rotting away in their library.
Though the choice is always yours, I do think giving away games you personally enjoyed (especially since you're talking about giving away games on your cake day, a day that should be about you and the things you enjoy), even if they are niche is probably better. Spread the word out of the games you like, maybe you will find someone else who also enjoyed them, or someone who had never heard of those games might have just found their new favourite game.
And yes, if you want to gift someone a game directly you choose "Gift" as the giveaway Type, and then add them as friends on steam so you can send the Gift. But do be careful, I think there's a rule on steam that you can't gift a game if the other person is in a region where the price of the game has a +/-10%? (I forgot the actual number) price difference. So you might want to check steamdb for the converted price first to see the price difference of the game in each region compared to yours and choose the regions where the difference is under 10% (positive or negative).

Very nice! To say something, and as previous users commented, can you check the whitelist community list, and I think that a GA for a 50AAA game is really cool, but there are cheaper games that are great and a lot of users would like to see as GA. The most expensive is not always the best.
Have a nice day!

I wouldn't gift a full-price $50 game. But if you want to make it something special, bundled giveaways won't do either.
Look for unbundled games on sale, preferably for games you already enjoyed. In that case, people learn something about you too.See Conti's current event.

Hello! How’s everyone doing?
It’s already been five months since the new year started. Time really flies, doesn’t it?
Naturally, after May comes June — and what happens in June? It’s my Cake Day!
At first, I didn’t really understand what a “Cake Day” was, but it turns out it’s the day (or month) I registered on this site. (Wait, am I right about that?)
Anyway, like many others, I’d like to host a GA (Giveaway), but I’d love to hear your opinions first.
I’m thinking of preparing a gift worth around $50. What kind of present would make people happy here?
🎮 Give away one relatively expensive game worth about $50
🎁 Buy various game bundles totaling $50 and give away a lot of games
I also considered giving away a few games I’ve played a lot myself, but that might be a bit too niche.
Oh, and if I’m sending a gift directly to a friend, should I choose “Gift” as the Type of Giveaway?
Ah, and here’s a small participation prize for the survey. Feel free to grab it
Just a simple bot check, of course.
Ends: May 17, 10 PM (JST), Level +1
If you cannot activate the gift, please agree to have the GA deleted.
I'm having ChatGPT translate this. If there's something you can't understand... please just give up..
