People need write Humble Support a feedback message. Maybe if enough of us do it they will reward loyal long term subscribers instead of constantly rewarding the people who just buy a few bundles quit and comeback.

From a business perspective it makes sense, they probably had a lot of people cancel last month and giving people who wouldn't have made a purchase without an incentive something would have a greater benefit than doing it the other way around. Still though, I completely agree that with them doing this and all the other deals to get people to join it'd be nice for them to reward people for staying.

Interesting to think how that could be implemented though. With the ability to pause subscriptions, if you reward people based on how many months they've stayed subscribed consecutively, people would be pissed they couldn't pause a month they didn't care for without feeling punished for it. There are people who pay every month for twelve months, people who pay once per year, etc., so you can't really do it based off the subscription plan. If you just give it to whoever has an active subscription then that wouldn't really be a reward for staying, it'd just be a part of Humble Monthly ¯\(ツ)

I personally suggested an anniversary bonus of some sort. I have never received wallet bonus, free months, or free extra games for have my plan with them for several years now. I am a bit salty, I guess, that new or infrequent purchasers get nice bonuses and I don't.

I just canceled annual subscription and paused this month and put a reason for canceling everything as "they treat us loyal customers so well -sarcasm".

I'm cancelling too, probably for good (can't afford it anymore easily anyway). Not because of this, but because this is the latest fuck-up in a long line of fuck-ups over the past year.

Not so much that they offer KC:D to new subscribers only (although I don't like that either and it feels bad as a subscriber from the start), - but that they sent that mail to me too and then cancelled it (I was not a multi-month subscriber when I got it but still, "nope sorry not eligible");

  • their whole handing of that recent stamps debacle (Oh you didn't activate your key yet? Too bad, we added an expiration date and also we're not restocking. Oh hey we'll give everyone Murderous Pursuits as an apology, but not you; you traded your Overwatch key so you broke TOS, no support for you);
  • various sub-par support experiences over the past year (including about purchases from their store);
  • stating that the Humble Monthly has all games with Steam keys (plus an Original), then changing that statement quietly after people complained about Destiny; sub-par support re: that one as well.
  • offering 20$ wallet credit two weeks after I took a 10$ offer (days before the IGN announcement), later 25$, and me forever ineligible for those;
  • more and more often, not giving relevant information about bundles before buying (time-limited keys, accidentally listing "Deluxe edition" but only selling standard, a couple other things that I can't remember right now);
  • a bunch of other things I don't recall right now, but I have been less and less happy with Humble this year.
  • also I really wanted Thumper, which was supposed to be in the July bundle (see video / bundle announcement on the IGN site at the time of release) but it wasn't, likely not Humble's fault but still a disappointment.

My yearly subscription is finally over, and while I do want Hollow Knight -- it will be rebundled soon enough anyway, and it's not like I don't have other things to play in the meantime. It's tempting to stay (FOMO and all), but it's time to end this. I hate blind bundles anyway.

if I cancel it now (I have 4 month left), what will happen? I mean they will refund or I just will have 4 month and can activate them again when I want?

No they won't refund you. You will have 4 monthles to get then you will have to subscribe again if you want more.

Thanks for reply ^^
Probably I will better stay as subscriber for 4 months and will forget about this crap store when my subscription ends

This part is too confusing:

If you cancel, your subscription will expire on March 29, 2019

Expire means you won't get charged after that date. If you stay subscribed, you will be automatically charged 12$ after that date.If you cancel your subscription, you won't be charged after that date. But I'd still delete the payment method from Paypal manually just to be sure.

Also, if you cancel now, you will lose your subscriber perks instantly. Which are: -10% off Store prices (if you plan on buying something), bonus "cashback" from regular bundles which are subscribers only. Aaand I believe that's it.

thanks for reply, I deleted payment method right after subscribing (8 month ago). Probably will get 4 more bundles without pausing and than cancel this crap ^^

I'm wondering if it's possible to buy into the 3 month plan again (I got the email too), pause for this current monthly (own Hollow Knight, dont want ONLINE-ONLY-DRM Hitman, no cares for that zombie game) and still get Kingdom Come?

Anybody have that insight?

I think when you buy a monthly or a multi-monthly sub, you're automatically taking that first month but can skip future months as wanted. But don't quote me. :D

I've got a sneaking suspicion you are correct. I could probably give my buddy Hitman, he loves the franchise, but then I'm stuck with a stupid game I don't want, and an awesome game I already have, but I get Kingdom Come.... but I still get a stupid game I don't want and an awesome game I already have. but then I get Kingdom Come....

Hmm.

Most of the time I like to think that way. Then I think that if I skip this bundle, the unlocks will have 2-3 games I've wishlisted (usually what happens) that make it worthwhile.

Pretty torn about this though. Could turn them into some neat puzzles, but my puzzles don't have the same pizazz and creativity as others' do. They are, nonsensical though. I have that going for them.

I believe they said they'd respect all the buyers who got the email no matter if they are active subscribers or not. So go for it. There was some time limit though, is it still valid?

Thanks for the reply, but you might have missed my point; I was wondering if it were possible to renew but pause the subscription for the current monthly and still receive Kingdom Come for renewing.

Think I'd rather not chance it right now. It's under $20 CDN but only for Kingdom Come? Granted the unlocks I'll probably kick myself for later on....

Well, frig me, the deal was over last night at midnight. That solidifies my decision then!

This is my purchase history in 2018 on HumbleBundle:

Humble Sports Bundle - July 31, 2018 - $4.46
Humble Indie Bundle 19 -March 27, 2018 - $1.00
Humble Bob Ross Bundle - March 14, 2018 - $1.00
Humble Brawler Bundl6e- February 27, 2018- $1.00
Humble Hunie Sekai Bundle - February 15, 2018 - $12.00
Humble Staff Picks Bundle: Scribble- January 6, 2018 - $1.00

6 bundles, $20,46 total spent.

With these numbers..
HumbleBundle, do you think I'm going to spend $36 because you give me a free game? Seriously?

BE CAREFUL i have got the promo email about kingdom come, i have activated the 3 month sub for myself using the button on the promo and contacted support just to be sure that i am going to get the game. the support said that they can find me on the emailing list so i cant get the game.

this what i call a scam shame on them.

UPDATE:

HB Support:
Hi,
I am truly sorry for the worry and frustration this has likely caused! After additional review, it appears you were not within the criteria of the list I had available, but may be part of another group who received this promotion (correctly) that I had been mistaken on! There is no pop up or any information on your account that the game will be received on Tuesday as this is all internal information. However, if you do not receive your free game by 10/25 at the latest please let me know as we can manually look into your account further!

Please reach out to me if you have any additional issues as I will be more than happy to address them for you!

Best,

A great deal, the game alone is worth the 36 dollars (and more), a shame I don't have a credit card as of yet, I just linked and verified my bank account to PayPal, but it seems they still require a credit card for monthly subscriptions, even if you pay with PayPal.

Well, I'll buy it anyway, once I have a gaming desktop.

Did you mean "enable direct debit" with linking your bank account because for me (in Austria) that sufficed to be able to buy the monthly (despite not using a credit card) ;)

I agree with y'all though, they need to do more promotions that cater to current subs.

I should have clarified though, it won't specifically be in any of the three coming up, including this months. :)

That's not much. Personally my idea would be more like 6 months minimum. I'm not saying it would end up as an upcoming monthly bundle teaser/reveal and I hope it doesn't for the sake of customers who bought into this offer, but if it were to then somehow I doubt that they would truthful about it at this point given that they are trying to sell subscriptions. Just saying.

“Hello there,

Thank you for reaching out to us here at Humble Bundle Support!

To confirm I understand your question clearly, you received the promotional e-mail and did not receive a correction to this, is that right? If you received the promotional e-mail, this means you are eligible for the offer inside the e-mail. All you would need to do is follow the link in the e-mail that was sent to you and complete your purchase. The game will be sent out later in the afternoon of October 24, 2018 to all eligible accounts.

Yeah, loyalty really doesn't pay. It's same with every company really, especially Digital TV, phone and internet operators. They offer better discounts to new subscribers to attract them, while the old ones get nothing.
I would cancel there too due to slow internet and other issues if they weren't the only Cable operator in my country offering watching TV and exclusive movies and tv shows online as well as HBO GO in their packets.
