Moving houses is a pain!

So on the 1ST of September my family decided to move houses into a bigger house as if the previous house wasn't big enough. I managed to make it through 2 weeks of no internet thankfully, however we still didn't have all the furniture ordered and the rests just came in now. Oh boy, my sofa bed which was literally so heavy it almost broke my back while me and my dad were carrying it upstairs. On top of that we also carried it into my room at the wrong angle and it got stuck, so I had to crawl through the tightest opening between the couch and lift it from the other end now most of you will say "Do you even lift bro?" Well besides that after 30 minutes of intense pain and geometrical analysis we brought it in.

Now I wanted to ask if you guys have any crazy house moving stories?

I also don't have any stuff I don't need. But others have turned my room into their personal warehouses and then complain how I have so much stuff and they can't find anything.

I've only moved twice in my life, but I know I'll be paying people to do it for me next time. It's so intense, so heavy... never again.

I know what you mean dude, I mean we couldn't hire anyone else because we are broke right now since my parents thought it would be nice to spend all the savings on useless furniture which is of no use right now! :P

If someone doesn't have at least a semi-crazy story from a move, they are a liar. Or got blackout drunk. Maybe both. This isn't the right place for any of my personal stories. But I can share one that I bemusedly observed:

I had a friend that rented a 26ft truck to move out of state. Then he remembered that his apartment came furnished and the furniture wasn't his to take. So he fit all his belongings into his VW bus. Then loaded the VW into the moving truck. And that made complete sense to him. Claimed it would be easier than towing, and he worried that the old VW wouldn't make the drive on its own. In his mind it kind of worked out perfectly.

Moved someone last year, moving myself this year, also helping parents move.

Its not super fun.
