Meh, tell support. Take a screen cap proving you gave the game. I only make giveaways with CV requirements in order to avoid people like that.

You still have a risk... Except if the CV requirement is 100$ or so.

Meh, poor choice of wording on my part - he claimed the gift on steam, but did not mark it as such on steamgifts.
@TheLitch, CV means contributor value, the amount of gifts you've given- because the only people who deserve to receive free games are those who can afford to give away free games XD. I kid, but methinks I might have to start setting one too after this ickiness.

It's Tomb Raider II, I wouldn't download/claim it either xP

Yeeeeah, though I really don't even mind the mooching - this is an entire community built in support of the proud moocherus giftmeuppus species.
I just can't believe the post-gift snubbing - like I don't even mind him ignoring me, but shutting down Steam instead of taking 10 seconds to quickly click the simple link I gave him and check 'received' - or just type 'will do'?
I almost hope his dog fell into a bathtub full of chocolate pudding or some equally urgent scenario arose at that exact second so that it turns out he had a reason to sign off instead of responding. Blarg.

Always put a few dollars of CV. It's the only way I can think of.

what's going through these peoples minds?
its not like marking it received effects them at all.

I would imagine it's language barriers. Might mistake what OP is saying for begging, or something similar.

I'm sorry man for that... Personally, I won 2 times and I was doing like crazy, I was thankful and I was showing respect. I also got respected when I made a gaveaway. I hope nobody will experience again such morons.

:( Sorry that has happened to you. That is one thing that has spooked me a bit when giving the games I have gave away. Do not get why some of those people cant take the very few moments of their time to mark it as received at the very least.

(....prize remains unclaimed @SG)
When you give a gift, is it so wrong to expect, if not gratitude, at least not an outright snubbing?
I'm a saaaaad panda.
