As previously reported, those who already own the games on Steam will be automatically upgraded to the remastered versions upon launching the title.

It gets a bit tricky for those who purchased BioShock on disc. Since most physical copies didn’t come with a CD key, owners of a disc version will need to provide their Steam profile information along with a proof of purchase of the original PC game to 2K Support. Instructions on how to submit a support ticket can be found through this link:.

BioShock 2 owners who purchased the game digitally through Games for Windows Live will need to find the key included with the digital or physical copy. The key can be activated through Steam, and the steps needed to do so can be found through the FAQ.

Both BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Minerva’s Den will start updating to the remastered versions on Steam at 3pm PT/6pm ET/11pm UK next week on September 15.

BioShock: The Collection comes with the aforementioned titles as well as BioShock: Infinite, upgraded to display at 1080p and run at 60fps for current-gen consoles. It also comes packed with all single-player DLC.

It releases on September 13 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in North America. It comes out on September 15 in Australia and September 16 internationally.

As stated in the launch times listed above, it releases on PC on September 15. BioShock: Infinite owners on PC are not getting an upgrade because the game is only three years old, and already optimized.

Excited to play them again... all them remakes coming out for free for previous owners is a nice development towards customer friendliness from the studios. I like it :).

I bought Bioshock Triple pack (package only has Bioshock 1, 2, and infinite base game) back in the day but haven't bought the dlc for each game yet. Do I need to buy the dlc in order to get the remastered version for free? And is there a cut off date for the remastered ver. in case I need to own all dlc's?

From what I know, you just need to own one of the Bioshock games, so, you are able to get the remastered version. (You still need to buy the DLC's in case you want to 100% the older ones) :p

What gets upgraded on PC?

BioShock ➜ BioShock remastered including the unlockable video series, Director’s Commentary: Imagining BioShock
BioShock 2 ➜ BioShock 2 remastered
BioShock 2: Minerva’s Den ➜ BioShock 2: Minerva’s Den remastered

BIOSHOCK ON STEAM: If you already own BioShock, BioShock 2, or Minerva’s Den on Steam, the remastered version for the corresponding title will automatically show up in your Steam library as a separate game. You can expect to see the remastered titles begin rolling out in Steam libraries starting at 3pm PT on September 15, 2016 (find out what time that is in your timezone). Once it shows up, you can choose to install the original version or the remastered version.

I was wondering how they were going to package everything since it was announced as one big package containing all three games.
Looks like I will need to wait for a good Season Pass deal for Bioshock Infinite :)

I assume it'll be the case, but anyone knows if the old ones will disappear from the store?

not likely, metro2033 is still available. unless they just dont keep up with licensing within it or something else happens. i know last light isn't but i believe there is a different kinda story behind that one (idk that story though).

Will I get the remastered version if I buy any of the titles after the release date or do I have to own them already prior to release to be eligible to get them for free?

This mysterious Steam Sub 125555 looks like the Complete Collection. It seems the buyers will receive both the remastered and the original games with all DLCs. Notice this:

409710 Unknown SteamDB Unknown App 409710 (BeachTree)
409720 Unknown SteamDB Unknown App 409720 (BeachTree2)
525720 Unknown SteamDB Unknown App 525720

I suppose BeachTree is Bioshock remastered, BeachTree2 is Bioshock 2 remastered and "Unknown App 525720" is Minerva's Den DLC remastered.

Of course it comes out on 15th for PC :( I have a 10:30AM early release from school on the 14th and was looking forward to spending all day playing them. I guess I'll just keep playing Road to Gehenna.
