Is there a reason why you prefer hiding GAs instead of just using wishlisted games? Wouldn't wishlisting a few hundred be easier than hiding 7000+ games per year plus playing catch-up with previously released games?

Also wishlist status doesn't apply to GOTY and other editions of the game, so you missing them all.
And my main reason not to use wishlist tab is that I keep many great games wishlisted that my current PC cannot run. And even though I'm happy that people giving away all those Witcher 3, Dishonored 2 and such, I'd rather not see then all the time.
And yeah, as sKolibri said - discovering new games. I've discovered a lot of great games thanks to steamgifts! ^_^

Untrue. It works if you've wishlisted all the DLCs that are in those special editions.
I also had the issue of a weaker PC that couldn't run the newest releases. So what I did was I just removed them from my wishlist :D
But fair enough, if it helps you discover more games and so on. I know the discovery queue can sometimes derail a bit, so it might be annoying.

Haven't filtered out any as I don't really participate in other people's GAs that much. Only look at wishlisted and recommended though as far as the latter goes, I already own or don't really care about 99% of what pops up there.

196 for me. Going for wishlist giveaway was way easier than having to hide 7500 or so games per year (7500+ released in 2017, more estimated this year).

after filtering out everything other than Windows, hiding games I own, and hiding games above my level, I have added 4 games to my manual filters. :|

I have 5000+ filtered giveaways and I've only been on SG for 4 months.

I'm a newbie, so only about 1500.
But yeah, I filter out all the junk (Blackscreen Simulator), and any games that are usually bundled but I don't like much. I dunno, just hide anything I'd never consider joining.

Everytime a thread like this pops up is for me the occasion to see how many games I've filtered and be amazed a little more each time by the amount of crap games that exist xD
