But probably the most sad moment for me was in Mad Max when max killed chumbucket :(

The end of Metal Gear Solid 3, and the last part of the Prologue in The Last Of Us

The ending of the Walking Dead season 1. I made Clementine shoot Lee....

And Specs Ops: The Line. When I realized we had killed dozens of innocent civilians and I saw their skin burnt off, it killed me inside, even if it was "just a game".

Baseball Stars was a NES game by SNK in 1989. You could create your own team, with players starting off as terrible and after many hundreds of games you can upgrade their abilities and make a good team. I had done that (probably thousands of hours), and one day my brother tripped over the controller cable and caused the game to come out of the console while I was playing it. Something must have gotten shorted because the save game memory was erased and all of my progress was lost. Nooooooooooooo :( I was so disappointed. It was crushing.

Maybe...Wind Waker ending...

The ending of Chrono Trigger, since it signaled the end of a great game.

The ending of Terranigma, because it's a massive tearjerker.

Life is strange, both endings ;_;

Dying Light, last moments of the intro scene when one of the two people who save you gets killed just a moment after saving you. Not my saddest one, but surely one that made me feel sad and actually more committed and eager to play the game, to reveal more about what's going on and maybe learn something about the guy who saved me, I felt like I owe those people who saved me and that I must return the favor because somebody paid with his life to save mine. It was a strong feeling that didn't let me rest until I did what had to be done.

I'm a little weepy frog.
I've felt sad with a lot of moments, but my top 3 is:
3 On Life is Strange The end of the episode 3 of Life is Strange, seeing Chloe like that.
2 On Mass Effect 3 The death of my Commander Shepard... i almost cried.
1 On The Walking Dead Season 1 Lee..... i cried.

Saddest moment? Seeing Warcraft 3 dying :(

I remember right now the endings of BioShock, Hatoful Boyfriend, Papo & Yo and To the Moon.
And why not, when a vampire killed Adrianne Avenicci :(

Probably the ending for Final Fantasy X - it was probably the only time I cried in a game.

Deponia trilogy's ending was the worst.
Beyond Good & Evil had some really sad scenes too (not going to spoil it).

Mass Effect 3 ending... i cried for more reasons... just a cry fest, cry cry cry, gets angry, then cry again.

To the f*cking Moon.

It's rare enough that I remember all instances.

To the Moon, during the song.
Undertale, the final boss.
And Hatoful Boyfriend. Both the first game and the sequel, so I suppose that makes it four times.

Sheesh. Maybe I'm getting sentimental in my old age, or maybe the games are simply getting better at invoking emotions. All of those employed quick mood shifts, from humor to tragedy. Which I tend to find pretty effective. ...I've never seen a movie that made me cry; I guess couple of hours isn't enough for me to get invested enough in the story.

Just finished "To the Moon" yesterday because of all of you people commenting.
IDK, slightly sad, but it's slightly more "horrifying" to me if you think of the interplay between the dreams and the actual reality there.

Well I have two.

Mass Effect 2 where Morinth vs Samara happens and for whatever reason on the 360 the game doesn't properly play the cutscene :(
Second, is every time I die within sight of a savepoint, and have to redo a huge area/part of the game to get back there.. The mantears are legit.

The end of the prologue to The Last of Us and how it all came flooding back in the hospital at the end.
