Torchlight 1 Multiplayer mod for GOG-version?

Hi,
I wanted to play the free GOG-version of Torchlight with a friend. We found out, that there is a multiplayer-mod for the STEAM version (click).
I tried to run this mod with GOG's game and got an error.

Does someone know if there is a multiplayer mod for the GOG-version of Torchlight?

Maybe you did something wrong, it doesn't seem like steam-exclusive.

I read a comment somewhere else, that the developers work on a version for DRM-free Torchlight. But that was months ago. So maybe there is another mod besides 'tlmp' for running Torchlight in multiplayer. Since I failed finding something on google, I ask here if someone knows about a mod.

I installed Torchlight and extracted the .zip (tlmp_r212.zip) into the install folder.
When I want to run Torchlight, I get an error (0xc0000142). Without the tlmp-mod the game runs fine.
