Hi everyone,
So funnily enough, I bought this thinking I already had the game so... you get the idea. I figure now It's going to someone who has the game and wants the DLC.
I had trouble making the giv since I had to guess the start time since my clock in ST is apparently 5 hours ahead from my real time, for some reason...

GIVEAWAY

I was going to do a rule that checked you had at least 6 hours on the game, but I couldn't find where the format for those queries is defined, so it's a simple rule check. You can help me if you know where to look it up, or maybe I can just copy it off someone else's rules.

Finally, if you have similar stories of buying an addon without having the base product, feel free to share them, or just have a laugh.

Well, your mistake is our chance right? :P Thank you for that! :)

Never happen to me. I usually buy the base game first, or buy the complete version of the game.

I usually do the same, I was just convinced I had the base game for some reason.

I was trying to find an answer to your question in this thread, but didn't have much luck. I might not have been able to put in the right search words, but I know other people were asking to implement a feature that could filter achievements (ie. "Finished the game"), but apparently it would not be possible due to some API stuff - lots of jargon in that thread for me.

It seems like the only way around it (for future instances) is to host a private giveaway and send people the invite code over Steam if they are able to fulfill your rules if it relates to playtime/achievements.

If I'm mistaken and such a filter does exist, however, please let me know since I'm curious myself. I've never noticed a custom rule like that anywhere else. Anyway, thank you for the giveaway, nonetheless!

NP. Thanks,
I think I saw something like this on one of Talgaby or Yirg's rules, but I may be mistaken.

Unless it's a keyword that is not shown in the drop down list, I can't see anything that checks for number of hours on a game.

Perhaps you might have seen this on some Marvelous giveaways?

I know I've seen the in_owned_games check, but I'm not sure I've seen a play time one.

I can only recommend you to get and play the game if you get the chance. It is heartbreaking but a master peace of a game.

Thank you for the GA!

I've played the game a couple of times and don't have the DLC but I heartily recommend you play it.
I'm not great and it almost seems like each play through is more depressing than the last in some special way.
My quickest game was about 4 or 5 in game days where I ended up hanging myself.
I also had a game where things were just grinding down with painful character interaction - till one guy took all the hooch from the still and went out into the dark never to return. - fun times. Seriously.. play it.

I think it's a bit too dark for me, which was why I ended up not getting a copy for myself back then, despite me thinking I did.

I can honestly understand that. It's a great story-telling experience but I found I needed a bit of a break between games.

Hmmm. I can't think of any DLCs that I bought for games I don't own. I did buy 5 copies of Broken Dreams to use as giveaways and then realized that I couldn't (at the time) make giveaways for them since the game had been given out for free before.

Thank you for the chance Avantyr and I hope someday to pick up the game for yourself too.:)
And to answer your question at least for the time being, it never happened to me to buy something for which I do not have the base game.
