Just a few days away. Another year, another Steam Summer Sale. It will run from June 26 to July 10, starting at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.

So what are your intentions? What are ya buying? A lot? Nothing? Time will tell?

Just making conversation. ;)

This year your wallet for the Summer sale will be...

View Results
As open as a flower in full bloom
Partially open as a treasure chest with the lock undone
Barely open as a curtain in a haunted house
Shut tight as a vending machine when you’re hungry and broke.
I care as much as a sock cares about being lost in the laundry.

I will see, I don't often buy games during bigger sales.
When we still got cards I cared for the sales, now that we don't even get those anymore I tend to check it 1 or 2 times, maybe add some to my cart, then forget about it and when I remember, the sale is over and I missed it again...

I'm thinking of picking up either Clair Obscur, Tainted Grail : Fall of Avalon or Phantom Liberty depending on which one has the best sale. If none of them are worth it, well, I've got quite the backlog to keep me busy already.

My budget is $20-25, which is quite a bit of money for regional prices.

Everything that is 95% off 🙏

There's two titles that I could buy on sale
Everything else is overpriced, or full of game-breaking bugs, or some generic copy of an older title, or requires 34 DLCs like it was designed to milk every penny they can.

Steam sales haven't been really special for a while. Flash sales were taken a long ago. Prices hit the same as in any other sale around the year and even cheaper outside. No new events as there used to be. You don't really feel "pushed" into buying stuff as you did. Bargains are few.

If the price is right, there's a few things I'd like, some AAA's, VN's, Indie's. At the same time, if they're put on the same discount as the last 5 years, Imma hold off, because I got plenty to play or other things to do.

Money budget: basically anything I want
Time & motivation budget: yeah nah

I might go for Monster Train 2, even if it's not at a discount, because it's one of the few games I know I'd play right away, and a handful of others should they hit 75% or better, but I'm not holding my breath -- good discounts are not in fashion these days.

Gonna pick up Scott Pilgrim finally since they just added achievements, maybe Rayman Legends as well for the same reason. After that, everything's up in the air 😄

I'll buy whatever is -95% from my wishlist and has a fair regional price (so probably nothing).
Ok, maybe some -90% deals, too.

I have a massive wishlist (a chore to vet it), but I will probably just see if any of the top ranked ones get a decent discount.
Not expecting much.
Perhaps some DLC, if they an historical low or better yet, bundle discounts.

Hey! Thanks for all the comments. I'll wait to see what is deeply discounted. Nevertheless, I'll get a few games for sure.

And just a heads-up, if you craft badges now, the Steam Summer Sale cards are already dropping. Have fun. ;)

Just refunded Swordship as I noticed too late that I own it on GOG already. This was my first refund ever and I'm unsure if it's a bad omen for the upcoming sale 😉

I rarely buy games these days, but an all time low for Project Hospital will probably get me to bite.

I don't plan to buy a lot, but I hope for some good discounts on my wishlisted games.

But I know, it will end like nearly always: Too much money spent and a bigger wishlist than before.^^

is it just me or is the artwork on this sale is just really... uninspired? from main page to card artwork to backgrounds to badges (both point shop and card crafted) everything looks off and does not scream summer at all.

Was thinking of getting far cry 3, but boooo. No lowest discount this time. I'll pick it up in one of the other sales it will reach it presumably.

I was thinking of getting the bioshock trilogy before i realized i own all 3 on gog. So that's another down.

So looking likely the only one I will get is AoE: Definitive atm. But who knows maybe I'll get surprised by something of the other offerings.

I always just look at the prices and smile at them
Only and only bundle buyers because nothing is ever cheaper than that

Did not buy much yet. Witch It! for my bro and Jurassic World: Evolution 2 for myself.

I think I'll buy the crash bandicoot trilogy and dying light since my budget is low right now. However, I'm undecided between other games so I'll wait until the end of the sales to better evaluate the options

edit: never mind. after thinking carefully about the purchase I decided to buy them but I discovered that I am short of 0.03€ to buy them both so I will have to buy only one. :(

I'm thinking about Zombie Army 4 / Left 4 Dead Bundle Pack. I never played Left 4 Dead uno, and the price is quite cheap for those 2 extras.
Also Season pass 1 is free now. I'm guessing Rebellion couldnt handle all that backlash with so many DLCs they put up.
Downside, there's still many paid DLCs and 60GB game, oh my...

I hate what they did to the game. Not only did they release THREE season passes for it, they also released story DLC that wasn't in those (Ragnarok Campaign.) It's ridiculous. It's like they saw what Io did to Hitman and went "Hmmm that will work with us too!" I'm still waiting for Season Pass 3 to get a decent discount.

No clue on when they gave Season Pass 1 for free but It's been 4 years and 4 months since the release.
Maybe in 10 years Steam users will get all the goodies for free...
