Been playing Borderlands 2 with friends. Game is well received, quite fun and has been out for a long time. So, out of curiosity, to those people who have yet not played it. What is the reason?

I have played it

I never played it because all these DLCs confused me and I never know what I need to buy.

But I really liked Borderlands (1).

The grind has started. I find it easier to get just the whole package in those cases. GOTY or similar edition. Quite a lucky start in SG, by the way.

If I understood it right the GOTY edition doesn't contain everything. As I said, it really confuses me.

But thank you for your advice.

Most of the missing content is skins. But I agree, it is strange that they have left quite many DLCs out of it.

While the first one was unique and generally fun, it failed to really keep me captivated and I have an unfinished save just sitting there. I've been told BL2 is better but it's still hard for me to justify the purchase.

I will, eventually. But after putting 130+ hours into Borderlands 1, I kinda wanna play other stuff for the time being.

Played it a bit, never went back. Well, apart from achievements for Playfire rewards.

I was enjoying it but...idk. Got away from it.

I have played and beat Borderlands 1 & 2.

Borderlands 2 as a LOT longer with a more in depth story line and all, but it does have a few problems that make me prefer part 1.

Mainly how they have the Ultimate Vault Hunter mode setup where Slag is pretty much required for any real damage and how a great deal of your skills become useless due to scaling also how you have 2 classes that become borderline gods at the end (The Psycho and the Gunzerker).

I personally played the Siren on both of them. I loved the Siren on Borderlands 1, I loved the SMG play style and the stealth when you need it. One Borderlands 2, while I missed the stealth, the phase lock had some promise but fell short as it was virtually useless on most boss characters and on the last play through, the damage it dealt was crap due to scaling and how almost an entirely tree was useless due to it as well forcing you into a motion build with a few key skills in Cataclysm as half the skills in it scaled based on your character so on the last play through they were completely useless doing less damage than a single SMG bullet and on most difficult fights all the Phase lock was good for was a quick slag effect as the other status effects weren't worth mentioning and the big guys were immune to the lock.

I just recently got the first one, and with my huge amount of games combined with my slow pace of playing them, it unfortunately is still on the back burner. :-\

Based on your played games that is no surprise. BL is a looter franchise, a Diablo-like (only with FPS controls and space western theme). cRPG players rarely like to play these time sinker farming simulators. :)

I can understand. I like hanging around its fan base on Twitch and learnt a lot about the game, but I never would buy and play it. Looters are not my genre. I even disliked when BioWare chose to introduce a loot randomiser to its games with Neverwinter Nights.

Picked it up just recently and it is a blast the first few times. It is amazing how many headshots a bandit can take

I haven't played Borderlands simply because I'm not interested in it.
But from what I can tell from friends' screenshots, the graphic is really nice to look at :)
