Most places seem to have it around the expected $60 price tag. I'm thinking I may get it so I can have it installed and enjoy it this weekend... but that's a tough price to swallow. Any relief out there?

(Most of my normal go-to's like Green Man Gaming only have uPlay copies...)

It's Ubisofts way of pushing more crap on you. I'll take Origin over anything by Ubisoft.

Doesn't seem to be the case for any Steam copies on there.

Buy it for Uplay...you will use Uplay anyways, no reason to pay more for the hype to have it in Steam library, I see no reason to do this if Uplay version is a lot cheaper.

I have about 5 games on my uPlay account, and about 300 on my Steam account... which include those 5 uPlay games. I clearly have a preferred platform. My Steam account is the entirety of my gaming life. If I buy a game, I want it to be there.

I guess it's that kind of attitude that Ubisoft and EA are really hoping for lol.

Steam copy forces you to install and register on uplay anyways. No real point in looking for just a steam copy.

You can only buy it on Steam if you want it on Steam. Any other place will sell Uplay keys.

This. Its a UPlay game, why do you think other places would have the Steam copy?

Far Cry 3 is a uPlay game... I bought a Steam copy on Amazon for $8. There are certainly more ridiculous things that could happen...

Well, it isn't happening for this one. Retailers outside of Steam only got UPlay keys. You want to have it listed in your Steam library, you need to buy it in Steam. Up to you if you want to pay that much, or save some cash and just get a UPlay key.

No need to get all passive aggressive and pissy. You probably shouldn't have asked why I would think that if you didn't want a legitimate answer.

And just FYI, there are Steam copies that can be purchased elsewhere, they just aren't any cheaper.

Like everyone said, unfortunately the only place selling the Steam version of Watch_Dogs is Steam itself, everyone else is selling uplay codes. So if you want to have this show up in your Steam library, either you pay the full new game price, or you wait... Good luck! :)
