Help! Giving away some key.

So guys, a friend sent me a key that was being giving away, but I already have it. So I want to know if it is ok to open here a giveaway of it.
And just to make sure, the original giveaway isn't open anymore. But the key is still valid, is it?

Have the friend contact the giveaway's creator and forfeit the game activation key and tell the gifter to request a reroll.
