Where do you keep your money?

You really don't want to know where my stash is.

In a holster under my arm.

My wallet only has a single, easily-cancelled card, and some IDs. I carry a few bucks in my wallet simply so I don't have to actually call attention to my hidden cash unnecessarily every time I want to make a small cash purchase.

In my Paypal.

In the bank.

Every 100 dollars I earn I buy Gold & Silver with half of it.

50% of the fiat currency I don't buy Gold&Silver with I keep in 4 different banks, 25% in savings accounts and 25% in safety deposit boxes.

The other 50% of fiat currency, as well as the gold and silver is stored in several caches located throughout my area. In storage lockers, buried in the woods in waterproof air-tight containers along with adequate food supplies and costume jewelry (for barter).

I also have a false-bottom in my compost bin where I keep rainy day cash, as well as cutting the bottom seams of my curtains and storing bills in there.

Or I just keep it in a bank. Either way.

Nowadays I keep most of my cash in a wallet or bank account, but I can usually find 10 bucks worth of change in pockets of my coats and jackets, when I need some money for smokes.

But I have two stories from childhood, when I kept money in a smart hideouts. First is from the time when I was about nine years old. I got 20 bucks for birthday and it was like fortune to me, so I hid it behind a picture on the wall. And obviously, I forgot about it. Imagine my surprise when it fell to my feet 3 years later as I was getting rid of the picture!

Second sadly does not have such a happy ending. When I was 13, I used to keep my money in an envelope, hidden somewhere in my stuff. That time I had 50 bucks hidden there. Sadly, once when I came home from school I found out my mum did some real tidying in my room and the envelope ended up in trash with rest of my junk. And the garbage have been already taken care of by dustmen!
