I was really sad and disappointed, it is highly unprofessional (thousands of refunded persons, no official apologies) and I am glad I didn’t buy anything else from the store this sale. It really makes me reconsider buying from steam.

I have just received answer from Steam support about cancel of my order :
During our recent sale, we mistakenly took more orders for the Steam Controller than we were able to fulfill. As we are no longer producing this product, we are unable to send you a Steam Controller and have refunded your purchase.
You should have already received a full refund of your purchase amount to the payment method that you used. Some payment methods take several business days to show the refunded amount has returned to your account.
We sincerely apologize for the confusion and inconvenience.

When did you order? Not that it seems to matter much as it appears it's almost at random if it's cancelled and refunded or shipped whether you ordered on Wednesday 27, Thursday 28, Friday 29, or Saturday 30. Curious because I ordered Wednesday and am in limbo still, no refund no cancellation, no update on shipping.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
Don't know how Steam decided which orders got cancelled and which didn't but the whole thing was a mess, especially with all the controllers now popping up for resale at outrageous prices.
