The Fidelio Incident - 0,99€
AntVentor - 1,6

Those are terrible games, so bad that i quited playing both.

At least tell us why they're terrible.

Comment has been collapsed.

The Fidelio Incident: They sell it as an adventure game, but it is just a very poorly optimized walking simulator.
AntVentor it's just a bad short point & click adventure, puzzles are bad designed, for same price you can find point and click gems here:
https://store.steampowered.com/sub/2102/

In fact I bought Fidelio because a thread like this one some sales before, i found nice game too thougth.

For 1 buck you can barely find a decent meal, snack or a decent beer nowadays, a pack of cigarettes is worth more than these two games combined. For me they're worth the price for the visuals alone.

The Fidelio Incident: They sell it as an adventure game

Well, they really don't. They don't use that word anywhere in the description. They even list other walking sims like Gone Home and Firewatch as inspirations.

I was gonna say I can't believe The Fidelio Incident is 0,99. I really enjoyed that game, one of the better walkingsims. Totally recommend it.

Another walkingsim lover, yeah! It's not as good as Firewatch, that's still my favourite WS but it's really nice and for 1 buck a no brainer in my opinion.

Anyone who likes management/citybuilders should play Startopia, that game is a true gem with a ton of wierd, different mechanics from really any other game out there.

Id go so far as to suggest looking into the few user missions still floating around the internet to expand the game a bit more, I've played some and the ones still around are pretty good.

Unfortunately muckyfoot had released some canned xbox port missions but they seem to be lost to the ravages of time :(

I recently played The Guest and found it mediocre at best. There aren't that many puzzles and some of them are really bad; IMO, randomly guessing at four different doors which is right and which is not (literally a 50/50 chance for each) isn't even a puzzle. If you're tone deaf, you'll definitely get stuck on the musical-based one, which is not able to be skipped and is randomized (I didn't have any issues with it, but a lot of people had to stop playing apparently because of that one.) The story is weak, the achievements range from easy to awful (with one actually being bugged so you have to finish it in one sitting,) and it didn't have much in its favor. I feel bad saying all that because from what the developers say in the credits, they seemed pretty passionate about it, but the game itself felt bland and didn't show any of that heart, IMO.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

that's something might happens (more often than not, imo) when the puzzle part is not the core part of a game. or, even better, when you want to find something specific, in that game.

what's tempting here, is the "Atmospheric" tag, for me.
also the various "carefully crafted and gloomy setting", "surreal narrative" and such.
these things are usually enough to forgive a dev for a missing/shallow/kinda dumb puzzle part (and i do love puzzle games)

thank you very much for sharing your thoughts, tho, appreciated!

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The thing about it is that if it had a good narrative, I'd forgive most of those flaws. Story and characterization are usually my number one priority in games. Since it was really weak in that department, it made it even less appealing to me.

But that's definitely in the 'my opinion' category, so if you're still up for it, I hope you enjoy it more than I did! =)

not particularly to you. just replying to last comment in chain. and you already were on the teaching part. and that your solution is kinda useless. I mean, if I'd care about the title so much to bother with 5 clicks I probably already have it or at least have realised it's on sale. If I don't even have a clue what that is why bother so much just to check it out and find it's not for me? The one click link is much more friendly for exploration and hidden gem discovery

https://store.steampowered.com/app/362090/Siralim/

1,99eur and spent 450hours with that game.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/632070/The_Fidelio_Incident/

~2h walking simulator but decent for 0,99eur.

I don't remember all the good games I played, I am sure there are a lot for less than 2eur so here are some from my wishlist I might buy during this sale:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/585840/Leaving_Lyndow/

1,19, can't help myself, I like walking simulator and experience stories.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/456750/The_Room_Three/

1,49eur, I am sure it was mentioned before, I am sure ill purchase this one when I'll do my summer sale purchase around 5-6th July.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/546220/Red_Comrades_3_Return_of_Alaska_Reloaded/

1,49eur but it is possible that I'll buy the trilogy pack, it looks funny and reviews are good.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/747340/Unforgiving__A_Northern_Hymn/

1,49eur, I am 99,9% sure that I'll purchase this one during this sale.

Well, walking sims always combined with something, puzzles, minimal action etc.

games from this developer? he creates only walking sims, but only average ones, or perhaps slightly better than average:

https://store.steampowered.com/developer/tongucbodur

11 games, as I see you played the 3 bundled, just like me, I think to buy the 2 Nephise ones each for 1eur, so don't have any opinion about it yet but can't be a total waste of money just for 1eur.

One more you not played but it is horror themed and include some puzzling if I remember right:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/370440/No70_Eye_of_Basir/

I had about 20 in my mind right now but you played all. Good job:-)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Thanks for your effort, much appreciated. Tbh Tongucbodur is my least favorite walkingsim developer as so far his games where quite boring with absolutely nothing else to do than walking. So when they are in a bundle ofc I have to check if this is still the case but not gonna buy one of his games.

I did play some No. 70 eye of Basir but it does not show because the next day the game got revoked. Groupees solved this and provided everyone with new keys but as I totally disliked the part I played I never added it again. Man I hated it lol.
We just need Firewatch 2, 3, 4 up till 68 and I'm good for the rest of my life!

Bought Firewatch a few days ago and played it today. It is good, nice looking but I think not enough story for even a second episode, but yeah, a good example for a good walking sim.
