If you look in their library, it should tell you if they have it or not via DLCs.

The way that game is set up you really can't check it from your end. Your best bet would be to ask the winner to provide a screenshot of either their library showing no DLC or their License page showing only Episode 1 as opposed to Complete Season.

So I was part of THAT train. I gave away LiS 1. Now the first Episode is for free, as far as I know. So how do I know if the winner has the game or just the first episode?
