Your profile says you have 320 Games and the badge unlocked Dec 30, 2011 @ 2:46pm... which is weird because you got your 1 Year of Service on Dec 30, 2012 @ 2:46pm... which means you bought 250 games on the first day you had your account, lol.

Hmmm, maybe number of games badges always have your signup date. Mine does too.

Maybe if they were free to play? The only other game he has that I lack is one of the Dirt games from Codemasters.

the badge starts at '1' game which is unlocked as soon as you install something. It gets updated whenever you buy stuff. They would have programmed with 'start date = account start' or something. There are other badges like the 'years of service' which has unlocked at certain date, but this was before the badges existed.... etc. it's just programming.

like steam tracking/achievements.. there WAS a steam BEFORE tracking you know :P

I would have so much game time on my steam if it tracked since 2004...

It doesn't count free to play games.

'1 year of service' has nothing to do with games. it's the age of your account. and that's all.

you don't need games to have an account. it can be empty..

I didn't say it did. What I'm saying is because the date for Game Collector was exactly 1 year before 1 Year of Service, it was the first day of his account.

There's definitely something screwy going on. I just received my 500+ games badge. Profile says I have 581 games, but the real number is about 200 less than that. Also, in my Steam Client I can see a bunch of generic "SteamAppXXXXX" entries.

A friend is showing an extra 60 or so games, but mine still shows the correct number.

I wonder if it's all related to a certain game, as some people are experiencing it but others aren't.

I have 119 games and now it says I have 225. Obvious error on Steam's end.

Wow, they messed up mine as well. I've now got over 570 games for some reason.

It used to show the DLC in the number count, before the trading cards. Then they got rid of it. If it's back for you, it's probably a bug.

Anyone figured this out? Games count shows about +400 for me today...and that pushed me one level up ;_;

I've had this happen to me before but I just sort of shrugged it off as another one of Steam's many weird bugs. Lately mine's been showing playtime for almost every game I have installed as 58 hours, even if I've never played it. Some games that I've played a fair bit show hugely inflated playtime, others show playtime I know is accurate. But this only shows up in the client, when I visit my profile in a browser it shows everything correctly. Odd.

Had this issue with library playtime, as well. Everything I have played was showing up as having about +9h of playtime in my library, though on my profile it was showing up correctly. It got fixed at some point, though not sure when.

Yesterday there was an issue on Steam that added a bunch of false game packages to various games. It was fixed within an hour or so, but that doubled or even tripled some people's game counts.
After the issue was fixed Steam automatically downgraded to the lowest of the max level you had achieved if it had pushed you up levels due to the fake/false game counts.

Really annoyed me as I was 3 games away from legit Director of Acquisitions.

I was on 488 games for a while instead of 286. Gone up a level as well I think.
