What does the reduced value towards your contributor level? How come any game name I type it says that reduced value?

It has been in a bundle of some sort or been on sale 85% and above

...on sale -95% and above. (i know it's weird, but that's the formula cause CV gets -85%)

There have been many times in the past where I have bought games at 85% and it has been bundled despite never being bundled. Therefore I said that figure. Blame the Russians xD

Reduced value means that the game was bundled or was on a discount of ~95% somewhere at some point in the past and that only 15% of the current Steam price will count towards your CV. Newer and/or more obscure games usually aren't affected by that.

Now it is a newbie questions thread.

How do you get more than 400 points? Use some points, wait until it restores till 400 and return spent points back?

AFAIK the only way to get more than 400 points is when e.g. a GA you participate in gets cancelled or if you win a game and all other entries in other GA's you entered for that specific game get automatically canceled, with the points you invested there getting returned in the process. Normally, 400P is the max limit.

I had something similar happening to me a few days back, though I think it was just a glitch in my case. Dunno about the other people ;>.

You can also go above 400P by entering GA's waiting for the 400P to regenerate and then removing your entry. Several people do it, though it's fairly time consuming.

you've seen people with 3k points or people spending 3k points? cause that's a difference ;) You can bank points for example - you use your 400P to enter long running (2-4 weeks GAs), then when you need entries (for some big event for example) you withdraw these points by removing your entries and entering new GAs. This way you can theorethically spend thousands of points in a short time, but it doesn't mean you've had over 400P ;p SG is still regenerating you up to 400P, you just banked these points for later use ;p

Saw a thread where users were sharing their main page screenshots. Some had 3000 points or even more

I can surely recall that it was Yirg who banked a few thousand points, though his case is a bit special - he only enters giveaways on a single day in the year, and stores the points for that day :D

I bank 2-4k points before each Simultaneous Giveaways event

Oh, you're right, heard about that, though haven't attempted that myself. The current 400P a day are more than enough for me :P.

For example, you use 50 points, wait until it restores to 400, then cancel entry, you get 450. Then you use another 30. Will it restore to 450 or it'll stay on 420 forever?

Stay on 420, only regenerates till 400

Alright, got it, ty

It only ever regenerates to 400P, that's why it's so time consuming to do.

Yeah, Stardew Valley for instance was bundled multiple times (?) at HumbleBundle. Next to the asterisks you'll see when creating a GA, sites like IsThereAnyDeal.com are a good focal point to look at if you wanna find out if a game got bundled or not.

They were probably included in a bundle in the past, like humble bundle or indiegala.

Grand Theft Auto V was not bundled so far.

It's probably better to give away a well known and well liked bundle game than some piece of junk with no reviews (yet gives full value) anyway even though the system doesn't incentivize it. One game I've found that gives full value, is a legit game, and goes on good sales is Fairy Fencer F.

Reduced value means you get 15% of the regular retail price. So if a game costs $20 at full price and has reduced value, it is worth $3 to your contributor value.
