I just finished it last week, the sound worked rather poorly in Win7 x64 so I assume I missed a lot... I didn't really get a feel for what was going on. There was the incidient, then for no reason a very long walk, then the ending.... I do assume the NPCs were supposed to be talking though, and that was how the story was delivered. Edit: Also make sure your suit's volume is set at a low level, or it will crash the game

Half life is a game that is understood after playing it.

HL1? well over all the game is good and there is a lot of funny shit in it, but because the game is so long, and all your doing is running around it gets kinda boring, but you still want to keep playing cause you think the ending might be around the corner. in my opinion while playing, there was too much time spent inside the lab and that was what got me bored. and most of the game you are alone and on your own. the scientists that help you dont last very long and most of the time in that game you feel like your the last man on Earth, its up to you to decide whether or not thats a pro or con.

The last boss was such a pain in the ass ill tell you that much. take all the cheap qualities of a difficult boss and put them together and ull get the last boss in hl.

Just keep in mind that its an old game and certain aspects aren't as polished as today's games with cod like controls.

Once i got in to it i played the whole game in a few days. It has a great flow and the game play is great from the guns to the enemies with lots of memorable moments. I hope you enjoy it!

It's one of the greatest games of all time.
