↓ Here's two of my YouTube videos ↓
#1 & #2
I used OBS to record them, but I can never get a high quality recording. Does anyone have any tips?
Here's my computer's stats (the ones I could find at least.)

I currently have to use "ultrafast" as my encoding preset, and anywhere from 1000~3000 as the video bitrate depending on the game.

Can someone help me get better recordings? If you do you can have any key from this list.

It it were an Nvidia card you could try this alternative but Intel graphics are very limited in this aspect. You could try this instead: http://betanews.com/2015/07/19/windows-10-secret-screen-recording-tool/

Bitrate should be minimum 3000, while ultrafast settings lower quality...

Try another recording software? OBS is wank for recording. I'd try something that's actually optimized for recording. (Don't get an unregistered Bandicam though, that's a sign of high quality xD)
OBS is meant for streaming and so there's shortcomings, that befall the software and the rendering and corners that have been cut for live feed.

So what would you recommend? It kinda has to be free...

If you have a qualifying NVIDIA video card (GTX 600 and above), then I'd recommend ShadowPlay, or according to its new name, Share Play. It's really good, because it can record and livestream your desktop and games with 0 fps loss.

My other alternative would be Razer Cortex, It's a really handy app with built in deals tracker, game booster, recorder, streamer, so it's all in one. No, you don't have to own a Razer product to be able to use it :D

Honestly with ann Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500 card I don't believe you're going to get topnotch graphics when recording even when improving your settings. It really isn't good enough/powerful enough.

If you're serious about making good content you'd need a better graphics card to begin with.
(I'd suggest an nvidia, for example 600 GTX or above for Shadowplay. Or get a cheaper version of an older one like 580 GTX if you're strapped for money).

So I should basically pay up or ship out? Sounds like there isn't really a lot I can do to improve the quality...
Sadly paying up isn't an option ATM. But thanks anyways.

If you want the high quality that you see some other youtubers do then that's pretty much the deal.
But don't take it too harshly: didn't mean to make it come across that dramatically.
If you accept lower quality than some other youtubers then you could still keep doing it as long as you enjoy it.

Besides, all this is just one guy's opinion. :)

Could you look at the two videos I linked to in OP? And let me know if that quality is "total shit" or "barely legit"? I'd like to know what you think of their quality. What do you think is the highest quality I'll be able to get? (for any game)
PS: I won't take it hard :) It's just the truth...

And thanks for the help.

Couldn't get the second video to load. First one the quality wasn't "total shit". Also looked at some others on your channel. Not too bad for someone starting of, with regards to image quality. What I think would already be an improvement is to get voice over instead of typing.
Typing comes over badly in video's most of the type. Feels oldfashioned and shabby.

Highest quality I'm afraid I can't say. It really depends a lot on the game and lots of testing with your specific setup.

Thanks. I usually don't do voices cuz I sound dumb (not really but you know what I mean, everyone get uncomfortable when they hear how they talk). But I'll look into it.

I can understand that. I don't like hearing my own voice either, but yeah.
