UPDATE: My brain stopped hurting now. Thanks to Mew2, dinghammer and Probrotector...

So, I have calculated my 'contributor value' (as follows, and according to the rules given in this thread), and it came out to be $83.864, but my profile here lists it as $89.95; can someone elucidate if I did something wrong, or if I am missing anything...

Steam Gifts’ Contributor Value Calculation

Non-Bundle Games
Terraria : 09.99
Mass Effect 2 : 19.99
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive : 14.99
TOTAL : 44.97

Bundle Games
FEZ : 09.99
FEZ : 09.99
Reus : 09.99
Papo & Yo : 14.99
Joe Danger 2: The Movie : 14.99
Dungeons of Dredmor Complete : 07.99
Rune Classic : 09.99
Indie Game: The Movie : 09.99
Spectraball : 04.99
Dead Pixels : 02.99
Snapshot : 09.99
Shank 2 : 09.99
Offspring Fling! : 07.99
The Basement Collection : 03.99
The Binding of Isaac : 04.99
Closure : 09.99
The Basement Collection : 03.99
TOTAL : 146.83

Total Value = Non-Bundle Value + min(Bundle Value, Non-Bundle Value * 0.2)

(’25.00’, to be carried over to ‘Non-Bundle Value’)
Bundle Value = 146.83 - 25.00 = 121.83

(’25.00’ is the carryover from 'Bundle Value’)
Non-Bundle Value = 44.97 + 25.00 = 69.970
Non-Bundle Value 0.2 = 69.97 0.2 = 13.894

Total Value = 69.970 + min(121.83, 13.894) = 83.864

The C.V. system is infallible, take the extra $6 or so, and run!

One of the $4.99 currently bundled games was given before the date for which it was marked as bundled by Shobo. That adds up to $89.952. I'm guessing
Spectraball or the Binding of Isaac.

According to his Spectraball GA's stats, the last entry was on Mar 7, 2013. This is most likely that.

O.O How did you check the timestamp for the entries? I can only see Entered 1 year ago.

Isn't it $30.00 that's carried over from bundle to non-bundle value?

AFAIK, it is not. $25 is carried over, and when you make more 'bundle game give-away's, $5.00 (20% of $25.00) is additionally added... So, to put it in another way, $30.00 is the max. contributor value you can get with bundle games...

Ah, right. I've never paid too much attention to the math.

My CV has declined 500-600 or so points overnight.
I was at 1300 or so a a while back a then it dropped to 700-800 or so. I don't pay much attention as it fluctuates a lot.
But they have a good system and it works.

Indeed :P. And in my case it was giving away a few of the 100 CV copy's of Serious Sam complete... then a few months later it dropped big lol.

You mean to say that the contributor values are affected once the price of game changes at a point, even though the giveaway of that game is made way before that point?

Yup, CV is directly tied to the value in the Steam Store and fluctuates as so

From what I understand the general rule of thumb is if you buy it BEFORE it was bundled, you will receive full value. But in my case like the 80% off the 100cv "SS Complete pack" for instance that people bought to raise CV like i did a year or so ago it was abused and or it was cheaper in russian stores or the whole pack got bundled.. not sure what happened exactly.. I just give games and win some :P, Dont care about CV anymore. But It is handled correctly IMO

As mentioned, above, CV is tied to the current store price. As the game gets cheaper, over time, the CV you get for having given it drops. And yes, the current system works quite well, despite not being "perfect."
