Hey, just out of curiousity, i see alot of kids crying about the prices of AAA Games, and see all of them play bundle games or price exploited games all day, so whats the issue... don't people otherwere are able to buy the 50€ games ?

right now there is are these Threads again, crying how much Aliens sucks, but the guy that started it haven't even played it, it already happened on how much other AAA Games sucks (far cry 3, devil may cry 2013, family guy :) )

On a closer look i saw these guys are from one of the really poor countrys, so this might be the issues ?

So just a little question, how long you have to work in order to buy a 50€ game ?

For me its 2 Hours (already deducted tax's) (GERMANY)

so i really dont care about high prices in Germany because it should be way easier for me to get a 50€ game than someone from Tier 3 because its 10 Hours of work for him ?

I earn money randomly(i can't work now), so if I got something in someway I can buy games else not. I'd never pay 50$ for a game, i try to get them at around 5$(except very few exceptions, for games i know i could play for very long time, where i can get them even at around 20$)

LOL. In Czech Republic the only way how you can make money as underage kid is working in McDonald's. They pay them about 2€ a hour. So it's 25 hours to buy 50€ game (3 days).
If you're already overage student, in part-time jobs you can earn about 3-3,2€ per hour. So not much better. I finish my school and I am outta here.

not exactly, i always was mad because games are that much more expensive in Tier 1 regions compared to others.
So according to this thread people (with exceptions ofc) Tier 1 people get their AAA games the fastest though they are the cheapest in Tier 3.

Some places in the world are poorer and less efficient than others. It sucks, but that's just how it is. Time to move on.

This is what I thought reading the question.
It boils down to 'how much do you earn?' , something that most people would never ask in real life and doesn't really take into account different pricing tiers.

It might be better asking what % of your income do you spend on games.

A much more appropriate question, but still equally as pointless. How often do you want to know how strangers spend their money? That's right, you don't :P

12-13 Hours because I get about 4-4.5 $ an hours at some small place like a pizza or McDonald's and I am only 15 in 2.5 months 16 so it will be more like 10-11 Hours after my birthday.

I would need work like a month to get that money. In my country there are many restrictions to get dollars.

I'm a student and currently not working. The only income I have is the student money and loan I get from the state that barely provide for my living. To be able to buy a game worth 50€, I would have to live a week without spending any money. But once I finish my studies and get a job, I should start earning a lot of money. :)

I'm a student and I'm not working. I had an scholarship (~250€/month) in the last semester, but now I don't have anything. I used the money to buy new laptop and phone. I don't buy many 50€ games anyway, I prefer to buy older games for my consoles. And right now I'm saving money for a new guitar. I buy stuff for money left after paying all the rent and food, and I get money for food and accommodation from parents.

laptops and phones are extremely useful for studies: they delimitates the actual study periods.

I'm studying IT. I will make use of them both. Laptop is of course more useful for studies, but I also plan to learn some Android programming, so a phone with the Android system will come in handy(I had Sony Ericsson K800i before). So yeah, that's what scholarships are for.

if you're in my state, minimum wage it would take you almost a full shift of 8 hours to technically afford it, however realistically you'd probably pay bills first so it could probably take you all month to set aside enough for the luxury.

if it were me though? I'm a computer specialist, I don't leave my house for less than 100$ so even if I wanted to pay all my bills for the month first it would only take me probably 2 to 4 hours to have enough for that luxury.

18-21 hours with average student job. Most students work for €2.75 an hour (usually in McDonald's or as agents in telecommunication companies).

To put things into perspective, average monthly salary in my country is about €600 and average monthly salary in Scandinavian countries is probably over €3000. Then how exactly is it fair that we have equally priced games on Steam?

I think its funny all these people crying they have to work a week or a month to get a $50 game, well thats your choice/fault. Get a better job and make more money, move to a place with a better economy, go back to school if your not qualified, or maybe you should of done better in highschool, either way its your fault if you have a shitty job so I dont feel sorry for any of you and thats just being honest not being a dick.

What if there are no better jobs available?
What if it's impossible for you to move (because of, say, economic challenges)?
What if you can't go back to school (because of, say, economic challenges)?
I'm sorry, but there are so many things wrong with your statement. It makes you come off as a dick - even if you're "just being honest".
obligatory, just being honest not being a dick

No idea about Usa, but in Europe school diplomas arent worth anything more than toilet paper. Here can a good car mechanic, plumber or electrician (all of them need 3 years of vocational school) get up to 50€ per hour while people with college cant get anything over 10€ per hour. Also, no one look if you were the best in class or if you were just 1% above failing criteria.

The only thing I took from the op was the question, and then something about people being from "poor countries". The rest seemed to be nonsensical.
To answer your question, though, I would have to work about 3-4 hours to pay for a 50€ game.

Edit: Spelling
Edit2: Now that people are probably staring at my profile, trying to figure out why I don't give away more games, I'll just add this: I'm currently in the process of moving. I'm also more interested in trading than giving away. It's just how it is.
