Why are there almost never any Penny Arcade RPG 1 & 2 bundles/specials VS 3 & 4?

different dev. there was some drama surrounding the development of the first two games which is why they switched to a different studio. i guess there is bad blood now between penny arcade and the first dev.

Different dev/publisher. 3 & 4 have a lower base price and go on sale much more often.

Probably because they had different developers. Hothead Games abandoned the series after the second game, and the series was looking (very) cancelled until Zeboyd came along.

Oh. That makes sense I guess. It seems Hothead Games stuff just never goes on special looking at their other games like Deathspank.
Darn, I'd really want to start with the initial 2 so I guess I'll get them on the next special even if it's just 50% (my usual rule is 66% or more).
