Amazon Prime Preorder/New Relase Games Discount [PHYSICAL ONLY]

Amazon today announced a free benefit for Amazon Prime members: 20% off preorder games (and new releases up to two weeks). This includes physical editions including collectors editions and comes with day one delivery.
T&C and FAQ

I don't know anything about regions other than the US store, so if anyone can give updates it might be helpful. Since it includes collectors editions, I might be interested, since that's usually the only time I don't buy things digitally, and 20% off is quite meaningful when the game is over $100.

It doesn't look like it, unfortunately, but nowadays everything comes with a code so you could always just use the code and toss the box. It's a little wasteful, but you could save some money that way.

Or just use a GMG code or similar to get 20-23% off a preorder and have it on release day anyway, unless the box comes with special goodies or something

I use Prime for the free 2-day shipping (great for my business and the holidays).
This would just be a nice bonus, even if I never used it.

That's unfortunate. The US version is convenient, but if I wasn't a student (50% discount) I couldn't justify it without the video/music streaming and other boons.

Best Buy still wins out for me since there's one near me that's tax-free and does 20% off sale prices and accessories as well (Amazon's won't as of yet) but it's nice to have as an option for things Best Buy doesn't carry or limited editions

Yeah, I think most of the benefit for me is for collector's editions with feelies I want. I don't think it's going to replace digital orders.

You're welcome! I think that console games are a much better deal with this offer than PC games. Except for collector's editions, I don't see myself using this much for PC games.
