I'm looking for websites about several subjects to keep myself up to date about them. Mainly about stuff happening related to those subjects.

  • Anime/Manga
  • Gaming (Preferably good mixture between AAA and indie)
  • Space
  • Science (Mainly interested in medical science, but I think it's good to keep yourself a little up to date to what's happening in all of them)
  • Technology

Thanks in advance for the recommendations.

[Ended!]Of course, here are some leftover keys as well:

Not really to keep yourself up to date, but every information about space should pass through the "Astronomical Picture of the Day":
https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html

If you really want to dive in deep, you can read papers on pre-print servers. For physics & astronomy the arXiv is pretty good: https://arxiv.org/

Thanks! The first site is pretty neat. I need to take a good look on the second link, but that might ne a bit too deep for me.

I used to use MAL til a few years ago, when it went down for several months. I'm using Anilist since, also for several other reasons. That said I guess for news this might be the best choice I have.

There's also Anime-Planet which is probably around just as long as MAL.

Less toxic userbase too.

It doesn't have the a news-section like MAL, which is what I'm looking for.

If you are just gonna use the website MAL would be the first choice. However if you want to use third-party programs, their API is kinda broken and it's been like that for years. For this reason I switched to Kitsu and I'm quite happy with it.

For space and science I mostly check Reddit r/science r/space r/spaceporn.

I used to check some gaming magazines but for some time I only use SG for gaming related stuff (besides the game-dev stuff).

Axiom.ai - uses browser bots to automate tasks, without needing you to code, has a free 2 hour trial (no credit card needed) before needing to pay (15$ is lowest plan)
Open Source Alternative - gives you open-source alternatives to popular apps such as Discord, Photoshop, Github
Synthesia - uses AI to make videos of a person saying something, first video is free
Jitter - provides you with templates for social media animations etc that you can edit and export for free
Tinywow - provides you with a bunch of web tools that are free to use, such as conversion tools, uncensoring, QR code maker etc

Hope these are interesting to some extent!

There was a useful game news aggregator site https://thegamerspost.com/
But it stopped working a couple of months or so ago. If any one has an alternative for it that would be cool.

I'd recommend Axios for gaming - newsletter twice a week, really good coverage. I included my referral link there, would appreciate it if you sign up through that.

I also like The Guardian gaming newsletter, once a week

I frequent reddit for many of these things. Would subs count as suggestions?

Like my favorite nutrition sub is r/keto and favorite cooking sub is r/gifrecipes ...

I don't do Reddit anymore, so I rather have websites (which is where most content from Reddit comes from anyway).

True. i just like finding the cherries picked from many websites, instead of slogging my way through trying to find them. Which is one reason I never use sites like instagram.

With reddit I ifnd it useful to find smaller niche subs in order to find interesting sites and info.

In the midst of packing and getting ready for a short road trip, but i'll scout my bookmarks later and see if I find anything you may be interested in.

One I've enjoyed for years doesnt get update that much, but has great info for alternative building style reference. Simplydifferently.org

I don't have any suggestions other than some subreddits, so I'll leave this Bump and thanks for the GAs! here.
